charity shops?
do you support your local charity shops either through donating or buying? ive just gone to one not far from home this morning to hand in 5 big bags of clothes and some toys the girls no longer play with and couldnt help noticing that while you could possibly pick up some good designer bargains at a fraction of the retail price which is fab but most of the things they were selling were at a similar(if not more expensive) price that what you would find new items to be in a bargain store such as primark.have you ever bagged a bargain or do you find your local ones to be as expensive as mine?
i love charity shops, im always havin a look in them, and i have brought a fair it of clothes in them too, all of good quality like DP or next!
😀 I'm always in the charity shops, I have had lots of bargains from there for me and the kids. And i get a lot of DH work clothes fleeces etc from them 😉
Ans if I have a clear out i also take a lot to them 🙂
I've only ever bought a couple of things in charity shops ~ I mainly take all my stuff there. The other day I took 4 bags of toys, books, videos that K & L had grown out of. Everytime I have a clear out the charity shops seem to do well LOL
I also love charity shops, being a vintage / retro collector! But I have noticed them getting more savvy with their pricing, and things which you could've got for £1.99 a couple of years ago are often around £4.99. A lot of them also move all the "best" things into specialist chairty shops - we have an Oxfam totally dedicated to selling books and records here, and in London there's one totally full of vintage clothing.
I live in a village and our charity shop is quite cheap depending on the staff!
I have had bn Boden wedges for £2.00 and got my dd a new next skirt for 50p last week.
Although I agree with the other poster - I think sometimes some charity shops are charging more for 2nd hand stuff which you could buy cheaper for new in places like Primark etc.
🙂 I agree some are getting a bit silly with there prices ðŸ˜
But we have one near us and its really cheep all kids clothes are 50p and books ect 50p too 😀
i bought some pink dumbbells from a local charity shop last year,, and if we want to get rid of any stuff we dont need we always take it to the john eastwoods hopsice for cancer patients..hubbys mum used to work at the hospice caring for the patients b4 she was killed ,, so its partially in memory of her as well as rasing money for the cancer treatments.
i have never bought anythig from a charity shop i prefer to buy brand new 🙃 i do take things to charity shops now and a gain
had to add my thoughts.
I love chartiy shops havent brought clothes for myself but really brand new stuff for bubs. EVen found a bouncy chair in one! really nice pair of curtains and lots of videos at 50p each! LOL
