Please Be Honest
my husbands friend (that i cant stand lol)
has just informed everyone that they have bought a german shepard adult to live in their small one bedroom flat with an 11 month old.
now i know those dogs can be so touchy especially with a young child but even worse in a small flat.
does anyone agree?
yes i have to agree,, 1 bed flat, asking for trouble, baby is bound to get on its nerves 😛
hmmmm i dont really know cus i was one when my mums dog had pubbies so i grown up with them til i was 11 but if its a full grown adult dog u could be right xx
ye bog dogs small flats an babies dont go well 2gether ,,, any dog can get wound up and its cruel 2 coop a dog up in a flat should have a garden an such
It just depends on the dog, I would never, ever leave any dog unattended around a baby or really young child. I have a german shepard mix and she was already 7 yrs old when I had Aaralyn, she's always been good around her, she's given her a warning noise before when Aaralyn got on her nerves but has never ever been aggresive towards her. If he's gonna have the dog in a 1 bedroom flat I hope he plans on giving the dog plenty of walking and excersize. I think if it's a healthy minded dog to begin with and has plenty of positive training and good excercise in can work 🤔
Are they even allowed the dog in the flat?? Depends on the dogs temperament really. You should never leave a dog alone with a baby/child anyway, the dog might be nice but they can easily turn, they still have a wild instinct.
Roxie was only 2 when Charlotte was born so she she has grown up with my kids but I keep a wary eye on them. I would be even more wary with an adult dog that had not grown up with them.
George managed to hurt Roxie as both the kids roll around and crawl all over her, but he must have caught her paw which she has recently damaged and she gave a warning growl to him. We moved George and put roxie in the dining room, just so she knows she is not to go any further than the warning growl, she wouldn't on this occasion but we never assume that she will never turn.We have a large enough house and an enclosed garden so if Roxie wishes she has the choice to get out of the way of the kids, in a small flat I think it would send her crazy.
