A Quick Update & Some Sad News

Hi

Well you all know from my other posts about the problems I've been having with my wife and the fact that she is leaving with the kids. Well Thursday is the day that she takes possession of her new place, although she won't move in properly until mid Septmber due to a family holiday that I am taking the kids on.
In the midst of dealing with all of this crap since the end of March my dad has been into hospital to have a melanoma removed from his brain. He came out and things were looking good that he would make a reasonable recovery, but things went down hill pretty quickly in the last couple of weeks, and he died on Friday. For once, I feel like I managed to make the right decision because I had gone up to stay with my mum so that I could see him, and I was there with him on Friday when he passed away.
Just another pile of crap on what has probably been the worst year of my life so far.
I probably won't be online much for the next few weeks as I will be sorting out the funeral and other bits and pieces, plus I still intend to go on holiday if only for the children as it may be the last bit of quality time I have with them for a while.

Very sad to hear about your Dad 🙁 😘 It has come for you at an already testing time in your life. Everything always seems to come at once doesn't it, good and unfortunately bad.

Thanks guys. I guess I was as prepared as you can be for anything like this, as I could see him going down hill quickly. I am grateful that it happened quickly instead of being dragged out. It meant that he suffered very little and it made it easier for everybody concerned.
The other thing that helped was being there when he went. Although it was hard, I think it will help in the long term.
