I am so happy today :o)

I won't go into the long story leading up to it, but I have a brother and sister 15 and 17 years younger than me who I only met once when my Father passed away when they were very young.

Long story short, I signed up for myspace (check it out, new stuff www.myspace.com/hapydazy , sorry lil plug there lol), anyway, I looked there with my brother's name and found his myspace page. I decided to email him and see if we could try to get to know each other. He's now 22 years old, just graduated from college and my sister is 20 and in New Zealand right now and getting ready to go back to California to go to art school. He mailed me back last night and we are going to try to get to know each other and build a relationship 😀 I am so happy and excited, I've wanted this for a long time, but had been too nervous to initiate it. So I did it, and I'm so happy with the response from him 😀

Just thought I'd share my happy news with my friends here 😀

I hope it is all fantastic for you. I don;t have any personal experience myself. I do know that lost family can be difficult tho. A friend of mine, her dad passed away when we were 12. 7 years later an old friend of his bumped into her mum and asked how his son was! As far as they can gather he was born before her parents met, and for whatever reason her dad never told them about him. Unfortunatly, with her dad no longer with them, they have had no way of trying to find out anything more about him, or where he is.

Thanks hun, It is hard sometimes. My father remarried when I was about 13 and had not seen him since I was almost 3 when my mother left Alaska. I went to stay with him for a month (and lived on a boat!) when I was almost 15, his wife was preggie with who is now my 22 year old brother. We all got out of touch again and it get's really hard to try and reconnect after so many years, specially after having only me them one time when my dad died and the kids were only 7 and 9 then I think.

It took me a bit to hit the send key after I wrote him the email but I'm so glad I did 😀
