I've just been swimming!!!

Hi there!

I've just taken my 5 yr old daughter swimming!! 😀 Not a massive revelation i hear you cry... well it is for me as its the first time i've gone swimming since the death of my daughter emily 6 yrs ago! I went swimming the night before i went into prem labour so i've always associated swimming with her death, so its been a kind of head thing going on. I also suffer from psoriasis so i've always used that excuse too. Well i decided that its not fair on Meg that i continue to think this way. She goes to swimming lessons now and loves swimming so much. I didnt want her missing out just cos its now the holidays. We had a fantastic time! She's such a good little swimmer and she did two widths all by herself!!! 😀 😀 😘

I'm kinda proud of myself too for overcoming the guilt and pain of swimming, that had taken over me for 6 yrs! 😀

That is awesome hun!! I'm glad you've been able to overcome your feeling about it and go enjoy the water with Megs!! I bet she was really happy to have you out there with her, bless her heart. Hugs and kisses to both of you!!

We're going swimming in a bit too, at my friend's house who lives on a lake. Aaralyn loves the water too!

That is massive, i tell you i have been worried about going with my 1 year old as i havent lost all my weight, how pathetic when i read your thread, you go girl, i am so happy that you took that step xx

I have to admit to feeling rather smug when her dad called tonite and she said she'd been swimming with me. The sound of surprise in his voice was priceless! 😀 😉 She goes to swimming lessons with him you see and then she goes swimming with him, his gf and her kids some weekends. He knows i havent been in the water since that night in May 2001, at first i thought it was the reason i lost emily but now i know different. Plus with my skin the way it is and also not exactly being a slimjim either..i kinda put it off and off to try again. Plus the look on Meg's face when i told her we were going was priceless and also seeing her show me all she's learnt, i was so proud of her!!!

Our local leisure centre has free swimming all over the summer hols for kids under 16 and because Meg is only 5, i get in for free too! 😀

Funny how something so simple can make me feel so good! 😘

We took thomas swimming for the first time at the weekend and he loved it!
