My Last Day

It's my last day at work after being told on Wednesday (Yes 2 days ago!) that they are making me redundant. Quite scary going into the big wide world again, my OH says not to worry but I do, it would be OK if it was just the two of us. George is settled in nursery and don't want to have to take him out. I just need some words of encouragement 😢

Thanks everyone, applied for a job on Wednesday and they've just phoned me, I go for an interview on Tuesday. Fingers crossed. Feeling happy now 😀

It would be great to get the job as then I could have two weeks holiday, I say holiday but I can decorate the house, as I am still contracted to the company I work for until 20th August. Started looking as soon as I found out been made redundant, has anyone else noticed that most part time jobs require you to be flexible, how can you be flexible with a baby?

most companies should be quite good about people with kids....i mean it is most of the population, if they are not, then i wouldnt even bother...

but u will find most jobs are quite good around children! 😀

Interview went OK, had another one today and they said they would be in touch. I have even been to an agency and they said that if it comes to it they will be able to give me some temping work until I get a permanent job. It's better than nothing.
Had an argument with a man at the job centre today as I wanted help looking for work, updating my CV etc and I was told that as I was on gardening leave I was still classed as employed and so they couldn't help me and to come back when the gardening leave is over and we can discuss benefits and getting back to work. I explained to him that it would be cheaper for the country if they saw me now as then I wouldn't have to recieve benefits, aaaaahhhhhhhhh it's so infuriating.
I am determined though so fingers crossed, I'll keep you posted 🙂
