I thought I'd share another poem I wrote

Clueless

Why do you say he's clueless?
Because he doesn't have the same thoughts
Maybe it's in your mind
that the battle should be fought.
You've lived inside a box,
you don't know what's really going on.
You've closed you mind to everything
and pretend you're having fun.
Maybe you should open your eyes
and take a serious look around.
That's what I did,
and I sure have 😠 ing found
that no one is really clueless
we're all just hanging round.
Or is it that you do have open eyes
it's just different things we see.
Yea, I guess that's what makes us you and me.
So before you call him clueless
take a look at yourself first.
If you look deep enough
it's you who should be cursed.
You'll see taht just because this person
doesn't think the same as you,
doesn't mean he's clueless
he just has a different clue.

I once was friends with a girl called Mary.
When she grew up, the others thought she was scary.
She had a mind all her own
and to the back of her head
unscathing words were thrown.
Sometimes in class, she would sleep all alone.
Because of the stench, other times she had to go home.
I believe to this day, she was the only girl I knew
who watched a show called Dr. Who.
Later, when a little time had passed,
Mary took a job pumping gas.
She had a brain that they thought was insane.
She didn't care, she was travelling on her own train.
Remember when we were seven Mary,
playing in the snow?
I pretended I was scary
and you said you had to go.
You seemed like a normal kid then Mary.
Did you really change?
Maybe it's the rest of us
who are really the ones that are strange.

I have to add, that when I was a kid the original Dr. Who was on our public broadcasting channel, and it wasn't something that any other kids were watching at that age. This was written about a girl who I grew up with from kindergarten to senior. She was different and an outcast, she was extremely smart, genious like, and she got picked on constantly 🙁
