For those who have had to say goodbye to a beloved pet...
I saw this along time ago on a dog rescue forum I belonged too. This is how I like to think things are when they go 😀 😍
Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

awwwwww thats lovely. weve lost many pets over the years to old age but the one that really hurt was my cat jonah (chows brother) he was killed on the road and only 17 months old. i was devestated
🙁 I can't even imagine how sad that must have been for you. I've only lost mine to cancer/old age (ones I've had as an adult anyway). My dog Cory's brother (Max) was hit by a car in front of me when they were puppies. The people that lived next door at the time adopted him when I adopted Cory. They used to leave him in the yard with a faulty gate and he used to get out and run the streets. One Halloween day I went outside cuz I saw him in the street and then it happened. It was horrible thing to see 🙁
thats awful 🙁
when i was 18 i had a beautiful black alsasion, i was walking him one evenin with my stepdad and he slipped his collar. i heard a thud and screamed, when i turned round i saw he had been hit by a car, the driver dragged him up the road but didnt stop, as the dog tried to drag himself back to the path another car hit him, they didnt stop either. a really nice lady came out of her house, she let us use her phone and made us cups of tea. the emergency vet came out and took my dog away, my stepdad went with him. i sat at home waitng for hours, when my stepdad called me he was happy coz the dog was doing ok, but as he said that to me the dog died, i was heart broken. his name was bronx, he was lovely and i still miss him a lot 😢
kel said:Oh, that is soooo sad 🙁 Hopefully Bronx is at the Rainbow Bridge now 🙂 😘

I've lost 2 rabbits, Fudge and Issy.
I had fudge for about 4 years and he died suddenly, he died on my lap after contracting a diorhea bug.
Issy was only 7 months old when we lost him, we noticed his back leg was a bit limp, within 24 hours the whole of his back end was paralysed. We had to put him to sleep as he had no control over his bodily functions.
