Ideas please!!!

Haven't posted on here much am a regular on AK but the site is so dam slow these days I cant log on and I'm looking for some advice.........
Leah's 1st Birthday is next Sunday and providing the weather keeps up am thinking of having a shorts and shades theme!!
So am trying to think of ideas for decorations, food etc.
Think will keep to bright colours like red, blue, yellow orange etc for balloons napkins etc, will have the beach balls out and the ball pool
For food we will BBQ but am trying to think of other ideas for food sandwiches etc and also a theme for the cake.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Well if you having bright colors why dont you do a holiday theme make the cake look like a beach?

and you cut cut orangers in half take out the middle and add jelly to the center of the orange skin and get some cocktail sticks and make a flag and stick it into the set jelly so it look's like little boats?

Thanks had a look at the site some great ideas for cakes will just have to try to decide on which one to choose!!!! Am liking the idea of the orange boats had thought of doing something like that for sandwiches. Will head out this weekend to gather up my supplies! Pity you cant order the weather as well!!!!

Maybe some cheesy blow up palm trees.. .I've seen them here in the states and they are really quite cute! you could put white Christmas lights around them maybe... Good luck with all the planning, hope it turns out to be a great time! 😀
