Nerves about it all

Hello all. I'm new to this whole "going to try to have a baby thing" and to be perfectly honest, I'm pretty nervous about the whole thing. My hubby and I have been together for 11 years (only married about 2 months of it though). I know that he definitely wants a couple of kids, and I know I do too, but I'm a bit freaked out. A couple of my friends say this is perfectly normal. Also, that I can't "wait for the right moment" or I'll NEVER have kids. Is this truly normal? I worry about all kinds of things. Messing up the parenting thing. The pain of labor. Fear of my child being born with a disability (of course, I'd love him/her to pieces, no matter what, but it still scares me). I'm the main breadwinner in the family, and I'm afraid that this will mess up my job. I know that my hubby will probably be the stay-at-home parent, which makes me slightly jealous, although another friend said to not look at it that way. He said that this will give me time away and appreciate my time with my kids more, and other such advice. I have no idea what is wrong with me or why I'm such a basketcase, but hope some of you have also experienced this issue with nerves and uncertainty. Thanks in advance for any advice! 😲

You are bound to worry about having a child but there will never be a right time. Labour yes we all are bound to worry but once you have gone thru it and got your baby in your arms you forget everything you have gone thru. Havin a baby does change your life completely but believe me its so rewarding also. I have a little boy who is 3 years old he is my world, I would be lost without him. I went through ICSI to get him which was very stressful but he is here and my pregnancy wasn't the best either but ask if I would have another one tomorrow the answeer would be yes
GoodLuck

good luck hun xxx

😘 It will be fine hun it sounds like your husband is very supportive.I was scared out of my brain when my hubby said we should start a family if it wern't for him i would still be sitting here thinking it wasnt the right time yet.But now we have a beautifull little boy and hopefully more to come.

Hey Dawn, your feelings are perfectly normal, actually it's good because it shows you already have concern for the baby before it's even conceived 🙂 My daughter was a surprise so I didn't have to go through the anxiety of planning a child but I went through all the normal worries (and then some!!) while I was pregnant. I think you'd be abnormal if you didn't have some worries over the whole situation. Good luck sweety keep posting you'll get alot of support here 😀

as with happydazy, my kids wern;t planned so I didnt have the same, 'are we ready, what about this this and this?' thing. Everything you feel is normal, good luck!

I honestly don't think there is ever 'the right time' to have a baby ie financially etc, just so long as you want a child!

Charlotte wasn't planned so we didn't worry about the whole getting pregnant bit but all the other worries you mentioned were things that went through our heads so I would say your actually pretty normal 😀
