In light of all the violence in the world...

I was recently thinking about a poem I wrote several years ago to have a little release from emotions I was having over things like the Colombine, CO highschool shootings and others since. I guess it really can apply to alot of the violence, hate and intolerance we all live with now. I thought I'd share it with you all as parents who love their children.

"Can't we all just get along?"
a man once said...
while a child shot a bullet through another childs head.
This is because of the poison their minds have been fed.
You think they have a choice?
I don't think so, they barely have a voice.
How can they compete with the violence all around?
With their weak hearts crying, we barely hear the sound.
No one really listened to the man who said "Can't we all just get along?"
No child is born with hate in his heart,
it only comes from what he is taught or not taught.
So reach out your heart
give all that you can
to a child who needs love
he'll soon let you in.
Then we can make a difference, as we carry on
we can do what the man said, and all just get along

Thank you... I don't know about talent LOL, but it really helps me alot to write when things are bothering me 🙂 and I like to share them when I think other people can relate. Some of the stuff I write would make absolutely no sense to anyone but me.
