Dont read if u dont like dentists! (seriously!)
My mum told me yestreday my aunt went in to have an infected tooth out. While the dentist was pulling she said she was in pain - so he gave her more jabs but my aunt kept saying it was the other side that she could feel the pain - anyway the dentist carried on and said its possible he could have clipped a nerve while taking her tooth out - this could be what the pain was!
It turns out he has damaged a nerve in her tounge and she has no feeling in her cheek or lower jaw 😲 she had this op done on weds!
The pain on the other side of her mouth??? Well that happened to be where he was pushing his fist in so hard to get her tooth out he has actually ripped her mouth apart! 😲 Yes her actualy mouth! Where your lips join - its ripped apart! that was the pain she was feeling! OMG i cant belive it! my aunt hated dentists as it is and so do i!!
I think she should sue them!
😲 OMG!
Your poor Aunt. She should complain about that thats shocking
Hope she feels better soon and everything heals up
alex said:when she called to say she still had no feeling hun they told her to come bk and have her stitches out - she said no way and refused to go bk at all! i would of too! We've said she should go to A&E and see what they say!
8O OMG!

omg ur poor aunty id definatly sue
Oh no big hugs to your aunt, I agree I'd sue also!
Maybe thats one of the reasons why i'v enot been to the dentist for nearly 8 years now!!!
I knew i shouldn't have read this post. 😲
Hope your aunt does sue them and gets somewhere, that sounds awful.
When i was having me second wisdom tooth out at 17 i lost the taste in one side of my mouth, it was awful but they just said 'never heard of it happening before, should get better soon' looking back i should have done more as it was awful i littlerly couldn't taste a thing on 1/2 of my tongue. But thankfully it did return after about 6 months, he'd obviuosly caused some nerve damage.
I know accidents happen but but ripping her mouth that's just terrible! 😛
I have a checkup next thursday too 🙁
Gemma
😲 OMG Your poor aunti that made my eyes water 😲

too right she should sue! im actually in the process of seeking comp from my own dentist at the minute as a routine everyday small filling left me with a very bruised and swollen face and some temporary(i hope) nerve damage.i looked like id done twenty rounds with mike tyson by evening and to cap it all off the filling fell straight out
Ahhhh thats horrible!!! Is she okay now? x
Saw my aunt today - from the outside there is no difference apart from a yellowing bruise around her chin.
She still has no feeing in her lower jaw and cant chew at all - she actually burnt her mouth on soup the other day as she cant feel how hot it is before it reaches her tounge (as usually we feel the heat before it touches our bottom lip!)
shes going bk on tuesday to have her stistches out - then she said she is never going bk but i dont knwo what sehs going to do! I think its terrible!
OMG that is terrible 😲 !! She should def see about getting a claim in against them ~ sheer carelessness on the dentists part 😠 !!!
That's so awful! I hope she gets better soon. When I was about 15 I had four baby teeth out at once which hadn't fallen out yet, and the dentist had to hold my head down in order to rip them out, as they were so firmly rooted in my gums! When the teeth came out they still had about 1cm of root left on each one - surely they weren't ready to come out?!
Bloody Dentists....it's a job for sadists!...not a fan of dentists, took me 17 years to pluck up to go for a simple checkup, was rooted in fear the minute I got into the waiting room. I did go in and sat in that chair....got some plaque rinsed off, I have a dead filling that needs doing, but thats all....now if I could only pluck up to go sit there while that drill goes in my mouth, but...I know I cant do it....it's made me more phobic than I was in the first place.....
Anyway, your Aunt should seek legal advice, thats malpractice surely?....or at the least neglegence of care..?
I am the odd ball here I like going to the dentist. I also like that the medical system here allows me to pick any dentist or doctor I please when ever they can fir me in to their schedule.
Your Aunt should seek out legal advice and complain about the DDS who harmed her to the trade union he reports to. Is their a ombudsman at that clinic or hospital? Such a report could result in the dentist being placed on leave.
