OMG...My son said a swear word
😛 My darling 3 1/2 year old came home from kindy with an added word to his vocabulary, 🤔 a word that he hasn't heard at home.I was left shocked as it was a pretty bad word that i wouldn't even use if i was VERY ANGRY. ðŸ˜
its terrible isnt it? my DD did the same once. to know that another 3yr old is going around swearing like a trooper. have you had a word with the teacher? thats what i did
Unfortuantley kids pick up everything at this age, is the Kindergarten near a bigger school?...if so ur little one probably got it from a bigger child...if not then a child at nursery obviously has parents or older brothers and sisters that do it all the time and think it's perfectly normal to use these kinds of words. Don't be angry with ur little one as it's not their fault ( Which I am sure your not angry with them anyway )..I would have a word with the staff and see if they have noticed any other childern using the odd slip of the F word and others and see if they can nip it in the bud before they have a full kindergarten of children that can turn the air blue. Keep us posted.
Hey Jo, like Rich said they are going to pick up everything at that age. little sponges they are! Aaralyn picked up a word (F-ing) and I'm ashamed to admit that she heard it from me in the car one day... a person was trying to cut me off and I said "what is this bleeping car doing" out loud with LO in the car. The following weekend she was at her Grandma's getting in the car and she asked her Grandma if it was a "bleeping" (replace bleep with F) car or a regular car 😊 . I just told her sometimes people say bad words and it's not ok and I let it go, she does not ever say any bad words at all now.
Charlotte has sworn a few times and shamedly she has picked it up from me and DH 😊
We now are alot more concious of what we say and I can't believe how much we used to swear! I remember feeling so disgusted with myself rather than Charlotte, especially as she knew what context to put it in.
We tell her if she hears us saying 'a naughty word' she must tell us and tell us its rude 😛 so she knows that it is very bad if even mummy and daddy aren't allowed to do it!
:DI have had a nice chat with my lo and I'm pretty sure he understood that it was a bad word and he wont use it again. He told me that a little boy in his class said it and he said that his mummy doesn't put him in time out so he can say what he wants.I had a chat with his teachers and they said they have had a few complaints from other parents about language from this same child. They are addressing it as best as they can.I feel for the little boy as it is obvious that it's not his fault and i dont want him to be left out.Other parents have Advised their children not to play with him,so i told my son he can play with him as long as no bad words are repeated am i doing the right thing? 🤔
sounds like you are hun. you cant stop yr kids playing with this boy just cause he swears. not his fault bless him.
they all pick it up at sometime ,and usually at the kind of age yours is at now.the main thing is that they know its wrong and unacceptable to say again.
