Hi, just wanted to introduce myself

Hello everyone, my name is Tamara Michaelson, Mom to Aaralyn Makenlee Michaelson-Costa (yea, she's not going to be happy when she has to start signing that long name!) I am 37 years old, single mom to a 4 year old. She is a delight and tear jerker and a frustrator and of course the best thing that ever happened in my life (cliche, but true)

So are there others from US on this site as well? I look forward to reading the posts and joining in conversations also!

Thank you Alison, she had no name until she was five days old (well, I was calling her Jadie Jo when she was in my belly, but it just didn't suit her when she came out!) We found Aaralyn which means "with song" or "beautiful melody", they both fit her perfectly. Her late GrandFather (my father) was Kenneth Lee Michaelson, hence the middle name Makenlee after him, then of course she had to have my last name as well as her Dad's, so it all added up to be quite a long name, yes.

Thank you all for the welcome 🙂 Alex I just joined Photobucket, thanks for the advice, hopefully there will be a picture of Aaralyn and my boyfriend's dog Chance. Aaralyn and I also have a dog called Cory, she'll be 11 yrs old in July. We have a 16 year old cat called Alex (yes Alex, Alex 😉 ) a 7 year old Kitty called Willow and our newest addition Destiny, who is my a daughter's 8 month old kitty. Are there others out there who have so many pets with children too?

I'm Sarah, mum to Charlotte 3 and George almost 1.

We have a dog, Roxie who is 4. We also had 2 rabbits (not at the same time) but unfortunately they passed away, most recently our house trained rabbit Isambard who was only with us a couple of months 😢

Thanks again for the welcomes. Sarah, I'm sorry about your bunnies. Over the last 3 years, I've had to say goodbye to a beloved dog, a bassett hound called Brody who was 12 years old when he succumbed to cancer. Also Irie, a sweet kitty, same thing happened with her when she was 13 years old. They are a lot of work, but worth every moment in my opinion, just like children 🙂

Charlotte wants another bunny and I'm tempted but I know how upset she was when Issy had to be put to sleep. I think we are going to leave it for a while.

Our dog is great company, we had her since she was 5 1/2 weeks old and she could barely stand up and wasn't properly weaned but we had to take her then or she was going to a farm as the owners were going on holiday 😲 She is the most loving dog ever!

Thank you Stacey, you sure have your hands full, huh! Good luck finding your ginger tom! And to Sarah, good luck with your decision, you'll know when it's the right time to add another "addition" to the family. My daughter has become very close to my 16 year old cat Alex, whom I thought would not still be with us at this point but she just keeps on kickin'. I started thinking about getting Aaralyn her "own" kitty and then she just happened upon us, like it was Aaralyn's Destiny (hence, the kitty's name Destiny) Someone had tied this poor little 3 month old kitty in a trash bag (rubbish bag 😉 ) and left her in a dumpster. Someone I know found her and couldn't keep her, so she was just meant to be ours. She is the best kid cat ever! She sits at my daughter's little table with her and has "tea parties" LOL. I'll have to upload some more pics of the pets so I can post them. Maybe we can get a little thread going with kids and their pets pics. I would love to see all of those pictures!! 😀

Hi Cassie, thanks for the welcome 🙂 Kieran is very cute 😘 I've had a lot of time on my hands today (Aaralyn was with my best friend and her boys this afternoon, swimming in the lake) so I've been reading alot of the posts, I really like it here 😀
