It's hard to know, especially with stuff that circulates places like myspace, email addresses and the like.
I have to say, and maybe i'm wrong in doing so, but i have a tendancy to ignore anything that comes from an unknown source. How did they get you details? Why and how did it get to you? etc.
I would have thought that instead of telling you to ignore it, they would be asking you to report his presence?
Just my opinion of course.
