Father Christmas has been banished by 3yo

Hi, I'm looking for any advice from parents that have gone through this before....my 3 year old son seen Santa at a preschool event on Friday and since then has been asking me to phone him and tell him not to come to our house as my son is too scared. We've tried a few different conversations but it's now at the point he's saying he doesn't want any gifts off santa. Up until Friday we've had no issues with santa coming, visiting santa or attending the preschool Christmas party (although he's not going to the party tomorrow he says as he doesn't want to see santa). I imagine it's a common scare factor but it would be great to hear how people got round it, etc. Thank you
