An story I want to share.

Hello, I am part of another forum and I saw today an story which really made me think. I consider it so interesting that I asked permission to the one who posted and she told me it was okay. Than in fact she wanted to share it.

"Hello my name is Emma I would like to share my story and I wish this would help other people who may found themselves in the same situation. I am from Lima, Peru now I have a beautiful daughter named Dalma, she is my treasure after 4 years of TTC. Me and my husband are medium level citizen we arent rich but we can live quite comfortable and happy lives. We had been married for what would be 10 years, I am now a woman who is around 40 years old and our little baby has 3 years. Me and my husband met during work I was a teacher in one of the towns deep into the mountains and my husband working for a Mining company in that same town. We met for accident and we rapidly fell in love. We marry quite quickly but we had quite a happy time together, after a year of so we began wanting to have a child. We had reached some sort of stability so we tried for a year but we ended with no positive results. After trying for a couple more months we went to see an specialist which inform us after many different test that I could never get pregnant. I am sorry but I dont wish to share the reason of my infertility as is something which is way to personal to share it right now. What I can say is that it affected me and my husband really hard, he began to grew distant using his job as an excuse to be alone. We went through some hard moment until we eventually sit and talked with the help of a common friend along with his and my parents support. Eventually after making peace with each other we seeked other ways I could become pregnant. In the end because of my condition we could only go for surrogacy, and while at the beginning all went well we went to specialized center and gor a surrogate mother. The nine months passed in a flash and in there tragedy strike. You see according to the laws in Peru the surrogate mother can wait till she has given birth to change her mind. We treat her well and made sure she could be as comfortable as possible we make sure she was sure during different stages of the pregnancy but at the end when we had our hopes crushed as she changed her mind and took out baby. We once again felt like we were hitting the bottom. We were dubious of trying for another surrogacy after such experience but after a couple of months we decided to try again. Fortunately it went well and we have to our little adoration. I would like to advice other people to look into the surrogacy laws in any country they want to try before they go this path. Some laws doesnt support people like us who wants to have family, I hope this helps. thank you."

This story really leave a big impression in me. While I knew things like this happens this is the first time I am hearing of an actual case. I can totally understand why you would like to share this Brenda. This are the type of stories which makes people have people, that make people who had been struggled after a while that at the end of everything there can be a happy ending waiting for them, that their dream of having a family must not remains as only that a dream. I was totally moved by that woman story, knowing how hard it was for her it really make my heart ache. But it wasn't only her, while I dont agree with the surrogate mom suddenly denying them the child she had agreed to give them. I cant help but think how hard it would be for any woman to give up their child regardless of the reason. That being said, seeing that they were nice to her and treat her with the utmost respect and consideration I take her a really strong reason should have been needed for her to change her mind and do something like that to the people who had been good to her. It makes you wonder, makes you think a little different about the situation not only from Emma perspective but also from the surrogate mother. Regardless I think the other message it shows, about doing the research and showing that in some countries the laws aren't the same is a really important message. I hope many more people read this story and are given hope about their condition.

Hello OP! Thank you for sharing this story with us. I'm sure it will give strength and hope to many girls here. This story definitely will make everyone to think about their ttc. We shouldn't waste time. Sometimes it seems there is no way out and we let depression take over, ruining our relationships. All we need is just seat and talk with our other half and decide what to do next. We are using European clinic. Our sm is pregnant and we'll go for our first ultrasound check in a week. I'm so excited! Can't wait to see a scan) I can't believe we'll have our baby in a few months. I wish all of you the best with your journeys!
