Keep telling me im irrational!!!!
I am having an operation in 7 days! First one I have had, just having my gall bladder removed so its only a straightforward little thing.
My problem, is that with no justification, and all the information to tell me I'm wrong, I am terrified of having a general anesthetic. I have no idea why, i dunno - guess i think something might go wrong and I wont wake up to see my kids.
As I said, I know its idiotic, and I'm just being silly. But I am actually bricking it. If I think about it I just cry!
Tell me I'm gonna be fine please!!
aww hun, its understandable!!!
Iv had 3 operations in my life (tonsils and 2 on my teeth-had to go undr anesthetic for all 3) and i was scared too, its natural to be scared i reckon! But im still here 🙂
Try not to think about it too much (easier said than done i know) You will see your children again, and you can look back and be proud you got through it 🙂
Good luck hun, im sure it will be fine!
xxxxxxxxxx
You're not being irrational - just normal.
I was a bit like this last week when I went in to get my legs done. Although I was fine in the weeks/days leading up to it, the night before I was getting a bit worried and had already decided who I was going to leave all my stuff to!!
I have to say though, it was the best hours sleep I have had in a long time. Be aware that you may feel a bit sick after you have had the GA - this is normal. Are you staying in or is it day surgery??
Wishing you all the best and we look forward to hearing about it when you get back.
😘
You are not being irrational I retained my placenta had to be taken to theatre and have a spinal but I was in floods of tears. Have you got an opportunity to speak to the anesthetist or even your consultant before you go? I would try if I was you.
Good luck hun. Hope you make a speedy recovery
Hey! You're not irrational just human!
All will be fine and you'll be home hugging your wee ones before you know it!

everyone is scared of something so don't be hard on yourself, i think its quite normal, unlike my fear of balloons!
haha...i have plenty of other fears too! and those really are irrational. I managed to create one large catagory to cover all sorts of things (mainly bugs and animals!!)
Im scared of anything that moves faster than me or has more legs than me!! lol
although someone did point out that this means im afraid of athletes! lol
i have my assesment tomorrow, so im hoping to feel better after that!

Both my mum & sister have had this op & they've never felt better. they can now eat virtually anything they want without any tummy upsets/pain etc. Be brave honey! 😘
