Do you like cleaning?

I absolutely hate cleaning. But after being a stay at home mom for a while, I am slowly getting the hang of it. At first I would always think "I didn't go to school for 19+ years to be a toilet cleaner!". I know that's probably rather arrogant, but it's just how I felt. (Now I can clean a toilet without those thoughts entering my mind 🙂 I know it's something that has to be done, but it is just the part of "job" that I hate. And it just drives me nuts that within 24 hours you can look around and barely see any of my efforts, as the place is in shambles again.

Are you good at keeping your place spic and span?

I absolutely love cleaning. When I wasn't married yet, I was already cleaning our house (by choice) every single day. Now that I am already living with my husband, it got tougher. He isn't a clean freak like me. I always organize his clothes and the things he buys. I can relate to the clean to shamble scenario after 24 hours. I can't imagine how much more I'd clean when we have kids. I enjoy it though (and hate it a couple of times a month). I guess we just need to suck it up because this is going to be our lives, forever. 🙂

I absolutely hate to clean. The only cleaning that I actually like is vacuuming for some reason. I do cleaning only because it is necessary and try to get it done as fast as I can. I hate washing dishes and even more I hate putting the clean ones away. I am not a very organized person so my kitchen is usually in shambles. I am trying to teach my children about keeping the house clean but it is hard when I hate it so much. I do like the feeling of having a clean house though so I guess I will keep cleaning.

I don't like to clean either. I have to admit I'm not very good at it. I try my best but my husband is much better and does a more thorough job than I do. The problem is neither of us like to do it. We take a day every couple of weeks and do a thorough cleaning of the house. I don't mind sweeping daily and I'll wash the floors every couple of weeks. Dusting happens about once a month at best. I can manage dishes and laundry but after that I find I don't have time for other house cleaning activities. I think you have to make time and since I don't like cleaning I find other things to do instead.

Ah Barbiedoll you read my mind! I am not the best at housekeeping, but my career was easier to take a back seat from than my husband's would have been. I worked in finance before taking time off to be a SAHM and it's been an adjustment for sure - and the cleaning just never ends. I think that's the hardest part of it - it's never like "oh great, all done!" when you have kids - it just seems to multiply! More laundry, more vacuuming, more dishes, more picking up random things lying on the floor - I just feel like I never have a moment to stop, or if I do I feel guilty that I should be off cleaning something else! At least I can never say "I'm bored", right?

I absolutely hate cleaning. And I'm really bad at it. I would constantly say, "maybe later", and when later comes, I'll find something else to do. Now, this doesn't mean that the house looks like something out of a hoarders episode, ha ha ha. It's just slightly untidy. I believe in, prevention is better than cure...even with cleaning. So when we are done with something, it should be put away or dishes should be taken to the kitchen pronto. However, when I do eventually start cleaning, I look like someone from an Obsessive Compulsive Cleaner episode. I have to clean each inch, corner etc. At the end of a session like that, I usually feel so tired, I'm like "never again".
But from day to day, hubby is the clean freak.

I love cleaning and I do that on a daily but the major one is done on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The most interesting part of cleaning for me is the fragrance of the detergents and disinfectants and the fact that everything is nice and shiny afterwards until the boys mess it up again
