Trying again - excited and nervous too!
Hubby and I have decided to take the plunge and start trying for # 2. Our daughter is 14 months now so we figure if it takes several months to conceive that she will probably just be a bit over 2 when we hopefully have our second. There's something so wonderful and exciting about both wanting to add to our family but I'm nervous too! I found pregnancy hard the first time - all the body changes happening so quickly were overwhelming. I am hoping second time around it will be a bit easier to deal with since I'll know more of what to expect.
Anyway, I'll keep you guys and gals posted about how it's going, if that's not too much information. The support and advice will be good!
What an exciting time for you, Amelia88! 🙂 I wish you the best of luck with conceiving and adding this very wanted and anticipated son or daughter to your family!
Personally I think that it will be a perfect age difference with your daughter... close enough in age for a firm bond... much better in my own experience with my siblings, than further apart. There are 5 of us, and the eldest was just 9.5 when the youngest was born.
And no, it's certainly not TMI, at least for me... I love sharing good news and celebrating baby news with others!
You have all the right to be excited. But let me tell you that no pregnancy is the same. You will still be taken by surprise. I cannot promise if it will be easier or not because out of my kids my second child was the hardest to bring out although she was small. My third daughter was the easiest and gave me little to trouble. I like the age gap that your toddler will have aftet a baby. I am sure you can handle it and I hope you and your hubby all the best. 🙂
Thanks so much! I'm hoping the age gap will be good too. I'm just curious to know how long it will take to conceive - last time it was 3 months but it's anyone's guess how long it will be this time! Hoping that I don't get disheartened if it takes longer. I think because it happened relatively quickly last time that part of me assumes it will be easy this time too - like Akiram said, no two pregnancies are the same which leads me to believe it will be the same for conception!
Well I am on my fourth pregnancy so I apparently concieve really fast. I suggest a healthy diet and more time with you husband. I will wait for your post saying that you are successful. Pray and I am sure your prayer will be answered and another blessing given to you. 🙂 GOD bless.

I'd say to enjoy each other and your time together. If you micromanage those intimate times and only have conception in mind, for some reason, it often works in the opposite way.
@mariposa I believe that 100%! I feel like if I'm treating it like my sole job is to get pregnant it really adds to the stress and takes the fun out of it! Hopefully it will just happen without having to try too hard and get neurotic about it!
I'm so happy for you @Amelia88, I had an annoying experience when I was pregnant with my first as well. But now that you have been through the ordeal before, it should not be as difficult as last time. Try to stay relaxed, eat nutritious foods and avoid stress. You will have a healthy baby.
@darkchild thank you! Trying my best to make sure I'm eating a well balanced diet and taking my vitamins too! And yes, the avoiding stress side of things is a big one. I appreciate your kind words!
That is great news. I remember when we decided for our second and it was very similar, we were excited and ready, or so we thought, but then again we were also so nervous and questioning every little thing and reading up on it like there was no tomorrow. As long as you are ready and you have everything in place you should be great and another little gift will greet you soon.
Amelia88 said:Yep, that's the way it works. I don't know why and I don't know how, but I've seen it proven with too many people to ignore it. There's just something about being too tense that slows it down in many cases. Even in my own case, although a little different, I *did* usually have it in mind for those five years after I lost my first baby... but when I stopped worrying about it and accepted the fact that I wasn't able to control it, it finally happened. And then it was like "Wow, I can't *believe* this!"

I guess there's still hope, but I'm not getting my expectations up too high. I think it would be unrealistic of me to expect for it to happen in the first month anyway!
Great news! Goodl luck with yr TTC journey. Keep my fingers crossed for positive outcome
Yay! Good luck to you and your hubby! I am pretty sure the second time around it will be easier for you. First pregnancies are difficult just because we don't know what to expect. We don't know the pain of pregnancy. We don't know the pain of labour and giving birth. We don't know what else to do yet because we're too caught up in the moment. Hopefully, the second time around, you are more knowledgeable and experienced already.
And thank you for sharing and updating us about your TTC story. It's nice to read about other people's stories since I want to have a second baby as well. Although right now, that's really not a priority. I was actually traumatised by my first labour and giving birth experience. Aside from that, financially, we're not yet ready for a second baby.

No luck this month - I'm a little disappointed since I felt like we tried just at the right time, but it shows just how tough the process of getting pregnant can be - even if we time it just right, it's no guarantee!
Quote:Yup, labour is really hard. But you know what, some women go through labour so fast! My husband's cousin was like in labour for only 2 hours. And I was in labour for 12 hours, goodness. I also know of some women who just gave birth immediately after going to the ER! Ack, how I wish my labour was that fast.:p

Aw... Don't worry, the right time will come! Just remember to not be so stressed out. Eat the right foods and hydrate as well. And of course, pray very often so that you will be blessed with a little one.:) I just hope that the baby will be as healthy as possible.
Hi Amelia! Just enjoy the journey and bonding time with your first baby and your hubby. Don't worry too much; it will come at the right time. Meantime, listen to good and relaxing music, continue eating well-balanced food and have a healthy life style, stay fit and just chill out! Enjoy your hobbies and engage in really positive thoughts. All the best you and your family!

I am so happy for you. The First time is always kinda weird. I totally get it. This time would be much easier for you. The body changes are hard to handle. I agree with you on that one. Keep us updated. xx
Hi there.I am glad to know that you have expected with a second.I think pregnancy is the nice time in every women's life.everyone wants to have a great time during this and enjoining the all precious time.Actually, being a mother I knew sometime we all feel very low and bad experiences during pregnancy.Every woman had different symptoms and also different experiences.Without struggle and hurdles, we can't get success in life.I am suffering a lot in my first time conceiving. It's such a horrible time. But now, nothing is left.Time heals all your wounds.May you have better days soon.I wish you the best of luck.Stay healthy and happy life.Keep updating us.
