Artemus

What does Artemus mean?

Artemus is an Anglicised variant of Artemas, a name of Greek origin found in the New Testament, possibly meaning “gift of Artemis” or “whole.” Though uncommon today, it saw limited use in 19th-century English-speaking countries. Its literary flair was amplified by the character Artemus Gordon in The Wild Wild West television series.
