Toning up after baby
Now, this is not a thread for us to beat up on ourselves and our bodies...we ought to be proud of what our bodies have been through by having little ones!
However, I have noticed that whilst I'm super okay with the number on the scales right now, my body definitely isn't as toned as it was before. Things just ain't where they used to be!
I want to dedicate more time to some sort of fitness regime but I'm not sure where to start, really!
What do the rest of you do in terms of fitness since you've had kids?
I am right there with you! I lost all of the baby weight by 4 weeks post-partum. However, my body is in no way the same as it was pre-pregnancy. I've started doing yoga and have taken daily walks with my daughter (at least 2 miles long, and sometimes up to 4 miles) since she was two weeks old. These are great ways to slowly get back into shape. However, if you're looking for something a little quicker I would suggest possibly joining a gym or buying some equipment for your home (nothing really expensive, but some weights and resistance bands are great starting points). Hope you can find something that works for you!
A few of the mums in my mums group actually do a boot camp that's held at our local gym several times a week, so I have been debating joining that! I am the kind of person that gets a bit intimidated though in group fitness settings - especially if I feel like I'm not as fit as the rest of the people there! But the times that they hold the boot camp sessions are super convenient so I might have to bite the bullet and join up!
Someone recommended getting the skin tight back in all areas particularly the stomach region with shear butter cream. A good massage every now and then; and for fast results you could go on a 30-day challenge, morning and night to get the firmness of your skin back. Coupled with exercises, good diet and smart movement, the body will be toned.
I ended up joining the bootcamp classes I was talking about! I've done two classes before (they're an hour long evening sessions!) and I've been struggling to walk/move on the days after the classes! As sore as they've made me, it's motivated me a lot to go back...it's like the muscle soreness makes me think that things are working that haven't been for some time!
I just hope I start to see some results. I eat pretty well - I just do need to start working out on a more regular basis!
Honestly speaking alot of mommies always comment on how I seem to not have had any children after I give birth. Of course I notice whats different like my breasts are no longer perky (whats worse is my hubby coments on them) a few stretch marks. But my issue is I cant gain weight. I eat right and good meals per day but I remain forever slim.
The only exercise I am allowed to have is when I clean its exercising and every so often I'll dance a day with my kids just to be silly and bond.
