Post-Delivery Workouts

Do the rest of you have a favorite workout routine or method to get back into shape after baby arrives? Or maybe none at all and you hope it will happen naturally? Tounge Out Love those little smiley icons! hehe Well anyhow, I have usually been a "let it happen naturally" kind of person, but sometimes I had to help it along, and after giving birth was a time that qualified.

I bought a number of workout DVDs and did it for a while, but then it fizzled out for me... just wasn't disciplined enough to set a time aside to make aerobics part of my daily routine.

What I finally ended up using was the treadmill... it didn't take a lot of time, it wasn't too strenuous as long as I walked on it and didn't jog or anything (at least for a while post-pregnancy, that changed when it was safe to do so) and it worked out perfectly for me.

What's your favorite way to get in shape after a pregnancy?

If you feel you have to be careful, now is not the time. For weight loss, it's all about the foods you eat. Exercise will never come close, but it's absolutely necessary for overall health. When your body is ready, of course.

I've been doing the Mutu System. It's actually geared toward post-partum women and strengthening the muscles that are strained during pregnancy and delivery. Ever heard of Diastasis Recti? It's when the stomach muscles separate from the growing belly. It's why some of us still look about 4 months pregnant even years after having our babies. Strengthening this muscle and basically "re-attaching" the separation is essential to a strong core. I'm doing the 12-week program which starts out very simple and builds on itself as you progress. You're supposed to do the workouts every single day, but you can do them in about 15 minutes.

That sounds very interesting, LMK1115... and definitely worth checking into further for anyone's who trying to get rid of the baby weight and that ... well, what I've called "leftover pouch."
What kind of exercises exactly are used to strengthen that particular muscle?

One thing that vexes my mind is how we ordinary women can't get back in shape after delivery. What differs those females (models/actresses/celebrities) from us? How can they get back in shape after undergoing pregnancies/childbirths? Is it exercies/gym only or they follow some particular diet post-pregnancy? What secret do they have that we have yet to unlock? I want to know. Can someone please answer?

Good point. I would add that all those workout DVDs with celebrities and famous coaches are just a waste of time and money. All you need is just a willpower because maintaining a proper diet as well as exercise routine is hard. I would suggest running and bicycle riding as very intense activities. If those are too hard for you then I would recommend just go hiking. It's more easier to start and it also helps to increase your stamina. But be sure to fill your backpack with useful stuff only. I would suggest checking https://cleverwander.com/ before going on your first hike. Stay safe.

I really liked Chloe Ting's workouts, I pick up the ones that work for me. This way I have my own rhythm in which I feel comfortable. It took me a long time to do it.
