Will my next breastfeeding be different?

I had a very challenging experience with my first breastfeeding. Now thinking about second baby. Is there a chance that my breastfeeding will be smooth and issue-free?

I dont have a clear understanding, But it may differ i hope, Since my sister has a smooth breast feeding for her first baby and she has some complexities breast feeding her second baby.

No way to know, but it is different every time, sometimes because of your past experience and expectation and sometimes because of the difference in how your second baby will feed.

But don't get upset or beat yourself up if it goes the same as the first time - just do your best and relax and it will be okay.

If you are worried it would be best to talk to a la leache league consultant or some other type of breast feeding expert before you even have the baby. They are usually free or very cheap and can help you have a plan in case this baby is hard to breast feed at first. They can even visit you right after the birth. My experiences with them have been very positive.

I think you should talk to them, but I also think you should have confidence in yourself. You already breast fed a difficult to feed baby. You have experience and determination. You will get through this!
