nanny cam - anyone here using it?
I will have to go back to work and leave my 3 y/o only son with a babysitter. I spent a great deal of time searching for a good one but still I'm worried. Surely you felt the same. I can't think of being away from my son. I think I'm going to organize some kind of video surveillance system at home to watch it from away. Do anyone of you have one? Can you recommend software possibly as easy as it can be for me to figure it all out all by myself

Be brave, everything will be ok. You cannot always be with your son no matter how much you want it, and it will only get "worse" as he grows up. BUT! You don't have to be so worried. Its all simple. You can engage professionals but if for some reasons you can't its pretty easy to do by yourself. My friends installed one having no specific background so I know it's not that hard. You will need a computer (laptop, whatever), Internet access, cam (you can use several wireless ones and place them around the house to get the full image), software and a cell phone (basically any device with Internet access - for example another PC at your work). Get software from the Internet like Xeoma (read first to find out what options it has and if it is what you need). Launch it. Configure. Test it for a day or two. That's basically all. It's a good think you can keep an eye on it. You can never be too careful.
Its up to you at the end of the day really. I dont trust strangers ie nurseries, child minders etc to watch my daughter, so am glad my mum watches my daughter when am at work. The reason i dont trust them is you hear so many stories in the papers, tv etc etc. I would, if your in complete turmoil about it, get a camera. I think if your unsure it would be a good idea, but thats just me.
