baby signing - who else tried it?

Hi, I am looking for other parents who have done baby signing with hearing children because I'm curious to know how it went after their baby started speaking?
We went to signing classes my daughter Lola (9 months old at the beginning) immensely enjoyed (the music, the dances - the lady giving the class is Montessori-trained and also teaches kids' yoga, I guess htat helped her tailor a great method and material). Lola took to signing very quickly and it was such a RELIEF to be able to truly communicate with her (no more wild guessing!). Now she's starting to build small sentences and I'd really like to carry on signing with her. Our teacher at BizzyBee.eu says it's possible and it actually helps speech development (even more interesting in a non-native-English speaking family like ours).
I'm sure she is right, especially considering the fun they (the big brother has been benefiting from the lessons too!) have signing, but I'd like to hear how it went for people who tried it.
Hoping to hear from signing families then!
Thanks already!

Hi,

I can speak only about my niece (2 y.o.). She started singing without any help and trainings. Because she wanted it. It began 1 years ago when she was watching cartoons with children's songs. We helped her only buying musical books and cartoons further. And special music too.

I don't use proper baby signing as such, but I do use basic signs for simple things and my little one understands and responds! It's amazing how smart these little ones are!

I signed with my daughter and it was a wonderful experience. It was great to be able to communicate with her before she was able to talk. Signing also really helped with reducing frustration because I was able to understand her wants and needs. My daughter is now 2 and talks very well. I really think signing helped develop her language.

I sign with my 13-month old daughter. It is a wonderful feeling that we can understand each other. Knowing that she wants milk, food or water are minus three reasons to why she cries. When she shares her excitement of seeing a dog, bird, or fish, I consider it priceless.
