Breastfeeding in Venice, how we got on...

The trip to Venice was a big success (or should I say suck-cess!?)- I was nervous the 1st time and I walked around for ages trying to find somewhere quiet, but after a few minutes our quiet spot filled up but no probs! After a few more outdoor feeds I was in the 'care-free' zone mentally and BF in the middle of a busy railway station (although Jess was still covered with a blanket)- yay me! Just got to keep up the attitude here now! Very happy

what you are doing is the one of the most natural things ever and you should be proud as its a learned skill and not as easy as everybody thinks its gonna be

i think the new law passed that if your baby is under 6 months (boo should not be age resricted) that you will be able to have that person arrested for harrassment (eg if someone asks to to stop or leave in a cafe)

not sure on the ins and out as i think charlie was over 6 months when it was passed

I believe that law has been tweak slightly. I was told it wa suntil the baby is 12 months. I got pulled aside of a sales person in Asda today and asked weither I was the same lady that about 20 months ago told a sales assistant to f. off as I had all the rights in the world to do my shopping and breast-feed my baby while doing so. It's not like anyone could see what I was doing. I replied yes thats me and if I had the chance I would do it again. It is know against the law in the UK as well as other areas of the world but I can' think which ones they are to ask a nursing mum not to breast-feed in public. I am 100% for this law as we are only giving our babies there food it's just we don't us bottles as we choose to be natural.

Welshmum you keep the nursing in public you have all the rights in the world to give your baby food on demand with-out having ot find somewhere private with a screaming baby to deal with because they want feeding.

By law it is until the child is six months

Just found info on the UK law on public breastfeeding- the age of the child only matters if you prosecute the owners if you are told to stop... before the child is 6 months you are protected by a maternity law and after 6 months you can have them for sexual discrimination.
