of my DD! We had parents evening this week and her teacher told us that (with our permission) they are putting her forward for an Enrichment course in literacy for gifted children. If she is accepted it will be next spring or summer time, outside of school time; where she will get to meet with other children like her from this area of the country and together they will do certain activities/work etc.
She is my little star and I've always known she has great literacy skills. She is forever reading and writing out of choice at home; and at school she goes into the class above to do Guided Reading as there are no children on the same reading level in her class. BUT when you are told something like this it is such a great great feeling and like something you see on tv or think happens to other people's kids. I can not put into words how delighted I am for her and I'm really hoping she can keep up with all her good work so she can have a bright future.
She is certainly the most challenging of my 3 little darlings, but maybe that's because her mind is always buzzing-she wears me out!! But love her so much, well all my babies of course!

Very happy Yeah another bright little girl. I got told the same thing but because of daughter only being about to turn 5 they can't get her on the gifted list. She is between 1-2 years ahead of the other children in her class in both literacy and numeracy and it is all down to my daughter nothign ot do with me or her dad. Or at least that is what we think as our 2 boiys are so slow at learning. Our eldest is 1-2 yaers behind in literacy but is average in mumeracy.

Wow to go little star keep it up you could be the next alstin in the world
