Sophie (8 1/2 months) has stopped taking any milk from her bottle at all. This started yesterday morning so this is only day 2 but I wanted a bit of advice.
She's well in herself and I think her top two teeth are coming through as you can see them quite prominently under the gum and she's dribbling everywhere and chewing on everything in sight - not just a teething ring - and also putting her fingers into her mouth and pulling them out quickly making a popping kind of noise.
She used to have 8oz after her breakfast and again after her dinner before bath and bed. As of yesterday, she won't take any at all! I've not changed portion sizes or her type of milk.
She eats all of her breakfast, has lunch and dinner and a yoghurt or fruit after the latter two meals.
I usually give the milk in a bottle but I've tried a beaker and a doidy cup too just in case she's gone off the bottle! You can't even get the bottle teat near her, she just pushes it away. She took a sip from the beaker then pushed it away - she usually has water in her beaker so I guess she expected that. I filled another beaker with water and she had a good drink so it's just the milk she won't take.
Anyone had a similar experience? I'm wondering if it's just the teething that's doing it. As she's not off any other food, I'm not overly worried today but would be if she carries on much longer without her milk.
The HV said not to worry and to try and get more dairy into her in the form of cheese and additional milk on her food and yoghurts. She thinks it will go away in a few days and is possibly to do with teething. She also said if she's having plenty of other milk products, she need only have about 8-12oz of formula.
Stopped drinking any milk!
