Hello there and congratulations!

I am Louise, just had baby 3 (Jessica, 10 weeks)- just wondering where you said you are booked in for a c-section, were your other 3 born by c-section? I had all 3 by cs and although I want to have 1 more with Jess' dad as she is his 1st baby, I'd love to know what the docs have to say on 4th cs's. My mate is a student midwife and she told me that although the docs will officially advise 3 sections only that the mws are told that 4 is safe.

A consultant that I saw at 8 months with Jess said he would do up to 7 but that's a bit much for me!! Shocked

Hi Louise. all my other 3 were born by c-section & so it is safer for me to have this one by c-section as they worry my scar will not hold the labour & could start internal bleeding.

When i was preg with my 3rd baby the doctors at the hospital told me that 3 is enough & they advised me to have no more children due to the risks. When i found out i was preg with number 4 i had looked about on forums & seen other people had had more than 3 & so fort i'll risk it. I went to the hospital again this time round thinking i would get a lecture about it being my 4th section, but they never said a word. instead one lady said, will you be going for 6, 7 & 8...? I was like NOPE! lol

I think now they are ok with it if you are young/healthy & if you are already pregnant then what else can they do eh? They will have to give you a section. I think i worried when there was no need Smile

It's great to be able to share experiences on here!

How old are your 3? My eldest is 12, middle is 6- have had a bit of a gap with them but as I'm 33 this year I would like to have 4th in the next 2 years, hoping that my scar will be ok then. I think I'll be ok as I heal quite well and haven't had any problems after the sections but I will probably still be on edge when the time comes, not because of what the docs might say more that I'll just be concerned that the time scale will be shorter.

Wow! They are close together! Did you find any problems when you were carrying them?

i know lol i was told that i would prob need help to have a baby when the time came as i have PCOS so when i found out i was preg with number 1 it was a big shock. then we planned our 2nd baby for about a 2yr gap & i had alot of pain at the start of the pregnancy but then i was fine. my 3rd we were not planning at all. it was one night we were not careful & i know what night it was lol so there is 17mnths between number 2 & 3 & we planned number 4. I carry very well, no sickness at all, just feel abit off colour but i found my scar hurts if pulled wrong or if i have been on my feet all day then my back & scar hurt. other than that i feel great & have felt great with them all.

My 1st was 9lb 4oz, she was 11 days late. 2nd was 8lb 11oz & he is 8 days early & my 3rd was 7lb 6oz & he was born 4weeks early. so i am hoping this little man will be abit early aswell.

what did your weigh?

James was 4 days late and weighed 7lb 6oz, Gemma was on time and 7lb 11oz, and Jessica was 6 days late and 8lb 6oz.

I didn't notice any scar pain when I was carrying Jess, but it had been 6 years since last op- are they keeping a close eye on you? Are they doing a scan on your scar to see how it is or anything to check on whether they will take longer with the surgery? Sorry if I'm soundng scary, just been reading up online about 4th cs's.

all good weights then hun Smile

No they are not seeing me any extra times. i have been to see the midwife the same amount of times as all other pregnant people. i have been to the hospital for my 2 normal baby scans, the VBAC clinic for my section date & info & thats it hun.

That's reassuring, I hope they are easy-going with me when the time comes!
