I thought some of you might be interested in National Family Week, which takes place this year from 25th May to the 31st May celebrating family across the UK. As a Londoner I can offer my own local knowledge of the enormous range of activities occurring across central London. However perhaps some of you can let us know what is going on in the rest of the country. It certainly looks like a great way to fill a few hours with the little ones. For more information, visit http://www.nationalfamilyweek.co.uk/view.

Some of the activities I can recommend include workshops and events at the National Portrait Gallery, Museum of London and a family workshop at the London Symphony Orchestra on May 31st to name but a few. One event occurs at one of the city’s most bizarre attraction, The Old Operating Theatre, which explores the history of surgery and patients from years ago but this may be more suitable for older kids.
Also, you may be excited by the prospect of taking part in a new world record breaker for the world’s largest picnic across many places. London’s venue for this will be Regent’s Park on May 25th with free strawberries and cream and entertainment.
