Hello everyone

I've not been on in ages as my computer has been down but thankfully we have it up and running again. I have really missed these forums. Anyway could anyone tell me when they first started to feel there baby move? I am 21 weeks pregnant on Wed and still nothing!!!! People keep asking me on a daily basis if i have felt it yet so Im starting to worry!!!! I had my midwife app on Friday and heard the baby's heartbeat, so that has reassured me slightly. Wat does it feel like? Does this mean its a lazy article like it's father haha!!!Has anyone had this before. Thanks XXXX

Hiya.

I know exactly how you feel. Joseph was a lazy baby. I felt flutters(like butterflies) in my tummy ffrom about 16 weeks but NEVER felt a kick until I was exaclt 21 weeks. All my frineds who had babies said they felt their first kicks alot earlier than 21 weeks so I paniced. MW really reassured me and told me I would feel movements when baby was ready (and also as I am over weight it may be later than normal) I still remember my first kick, it was a Friday night and my mum was having a bodyshop party and I kept having these urges to go to the toilet and then I sudden got a bounding in my bladder and I thought I was going to have an accident!! Embarassed

Hey hunnie i found it really hard to tell with my first pregnancy but was more obvious with this little one, first movements feel like flutters almost popping like sensations in your belly, at times it may feel like you have a build up of wind (nice thought im sure) but actually can be your little baby moving around, when you get that first defo kick you will know. Try not too worry too much its always reassuring to hear the heartbeat and your midwife will never turn you away if you need reassurance. Very happy

I worried too with mine and now the little tyke won't stay still at all. I think I was about 25 weeks before I felt proper movement - before that there were the occassional fluttery sensations but nothing major and I don't think it was much before 25 weeks.

Try not to worry - I say that with confidence that you will carry on worrying! Very happy

Not sure if your body size makes a difference too. I am not a skinny one and I wonder if my extra padding made feeling movement take a bit longer, but that is just a theory cause I have no idea.

Anyway - good luck and stay calm. I am sure the little one is dancing about like mad when you are not paying attention. Smile

Thanks so much for the replies! They have reassured me (A BIT!!)Im sure it's just a lazy baby like it's daddy. I know a couple of you had said if you were overweight this might affect when u actually feel movements, but Im the opposite, a skinny minnie!! I'll be sure to let you know as soon as they let me know their in there!!!

Thanks AgainXXXX

i was kinda like that aswell. the first time i felt a movement was the end of february (around 4/5 months) but after that nothing at all. i got worried aswell but thought baby will probably move, poke, prod, kick at her/his own time. I was worried but thought maybe move when they're ready. see now sometimes i was baby would stop just for a wee while....lol
