group b strep is a bacterial infection that you may or may not carry and very rarely affects the newborn if you do carry it. They don't test for it routinely but you can look it up on internet.

Hey hun you can get information at www.gbss.org.uk, unfortunately my little one died last year from a Group B Strep infection so it is very serious if you are a carrier. The sad thing is the government and health council dont believe that women should be routinely screened as the screening is unrealiable however you can pay for testing yourself. I didnt know anything about GBS before i had Sophie, very clued up this time for this little one to arrive safely.
