Flying during early pregnancy

Hi all. Wondering what your thoughts and experiences are on flying in the first trimester?

I am 5 weeks pregnant and have a number of trips already booked. One is for work in 2 weeks, just a short flight of over 1/2 hr. Then I'm off to Prague in 4 weeks time, and 4 weeks after that we have a holiday in Portugal booked.

Having had a peek on the internet my feeling is that it seems safe enough as non are long haul and therefore less serious risks of DVT. But I'd really like to go home and see my mum to break the news, which would involve another short flight!

What do you think? Suspect

I think it is fine. I would early on but if you are not sure call your midwife or doctors.

I hate flying and they tried to get me to fly for work the other week but I used my bump as an excuse. Naughty me. But it would have been OK really.

I don't think there would be any issues. It's 3rd trimester they tend to be picky about. I flew to Tobago when I was 21 weeks and just ensured I bought some awful looking flight pop-socks (talk about tight Crazy ) which I used on the plane. I have to confess we were spoilt though as we did go upper class Very happy

If you're concerned, chat to your MW but I'm sure you'll be fine. Hope you have fun flying around Very happy

The homesickness won in the end and I decided that going home to my mother was the most important thing for my sanity in the end! Flight's less than 50 minutes, so I guess it's not an issue really.
Thanks!
