I am 7 weeks pregnant by LMP.

At 6 weeks I started having peach discharge. I also had a couple of episodes of watery, but very definitely red, blood on the toilet paper. This then settled back to intermittent peach discharge which seemed to settle.

I had a scan yesterday and was told that I was not 7 weeks, more like 5. I do have an irregular cycle so that would explain it. Because of this nothing much could be seen apart from the sac. I need to go back in 7 days to see if it is viable.

I am still getting symptoms of pregnancy and was told that was a good thing.

However, I have scared myself by looking on the internet and have come across "blighted ovum", which means that the sac develops but not the embryo. You do start to bleed at about 6 weeks (which was what I was by LMP when I started). You also get normal pregnancy symptoms.

I am confused and scared, but trying to be positive(and managing it some of the time). Anyone else got any experience of this? Sad Face

My doc is aware of what is going on, that is how I got the urgent early scan at the Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic. I am having a repeat scan next week.

Just wondered if anyone on here had experience of this sort of thing and how it worked out for them that's all.

Try not to worry too much hun - easier said than done I know Kiss

I had a bleed at 5 weeks pregnant and they also did an internal scan and we saw the little sac too. They told me to come back in 2 weeks to have another scan when I was 7 weeks gone - the longest 2 weeks of my life I can tell you and another couple of bleeds along the way - but when I did, all was well and we could see the little heartbeat and the embryo was there. Sophie is now a bright little 5+ month old baby Love

I had panicked because the year before (2007) I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks which started with spotting so you can imagine how I felt last year when the same thing appeared to be happening at 5 weeks!

As you have to go back, they are doing all the right things and monitoring you. Let's hope you get to see the little heart too when you go back Very happy

In the meantime, try not to get stressed hun. That will do you no favours Tounge Out

Keep your chin up and let us know how you get along. Kiss Kiss

Thank you so much for that, it is very reassuring. Kiss

I too suffered a miscarriage at the end of 1997. I went for my a scan at 13.5 weeks and the sac was growing but the little bean had died at just over 6 weeks. It was awful as I still felt I was pregnant and like nothing was wrong. I had started bleeding a bit a few days before my scan.

I have been being positive more than negative, but had a bad day today, felt very down and tearful, and angry.

On the plus side felt sick this morning, pain in my boobs and been craving noodles and crunchie bars (first real cravings I have had) so it seems things are progressing - everything crossed.

Will let you know how I get on Smile

Keeping it all crossed for you hun Kiss I started to feel sick almost instantly with Sophie too. I must admit when I had the MC, I suddenly didn't feel pregnant anymore and that happened overnight before the bleeding started so I think it certainly sounds good with what you're feeling.

Let me know how you get on at the next scan won't you Kiss

Oh my sometimes the internet can be pain in the bum. I think sometimes we read too much about what can go wrong that we forget that no-one writes articles that say "You most probably will worry, have little bleeds, feel poop, cry at nothing, get cramps and wonder if it is all in your head and find that like millions of other pregnant ladies you and the baby are fine!"

I wish someone would write more stuff like that.

I wish you all the best and I hope everything is fine and dandy with your bean. Try to stay as positive as you can (this from me - who crys at the moment if my Boris the Bump doesn't do aerobics every few hours) and let us know how it goes.

Kiss

Thank you for your positive and reassuring comments. Smile

I felt like shite this morning when I woke up, felt nauseas and yucky and I feel emotional too, over very little things (hearing a sad song on the radio had me in floods!!)

Am still wanting noodles, just had a bowl!!!

Since I had my scan have had a couple small episodes of peachy discharge, and a tiny bit of pink this morning, but going for periods of time really clear, so am not panicking.

I agree about the internet, I am banning myself from going anywhere other than here and not looking up anything! Very happy

Well today is scan day. In about 2 hours time I will be at the hospital having it.

Everything has cleared up since Sunday night. No discharge (accept normal clear coloured) or bleeding. Also my pregnancy symptoms seem to have become a million times worse, felt much more sick, tired, and very sore, tingly itchy boobs, so there must be something going on inside.

I will post later to let you know how I get on, but must admit I feel very positive and have a "gut feeling" all will be OK. I think us women know our own bodies and what they are telling us.

How did the scan go hun?

MsRussellBMsRussellB

She could see the sac was bigger and clearer and she was pretty confident she could see a little baby growing, but still could not get clear pictures. Therefore she did not want to categorically say all was A-OK. She did show us on the screen and you could definitely see a little light blip there in the sac! She wants to scan me again, so am going back in 11 days (could have gone back next week, but she is on hol and really wanted to see her again). She says by that time all should be big enough to give me definte confirmation it is viable or otherwise.

It is a good sign I still feel pregant and that my symptoms have increased.

Did get a bit disconcerted at one point when she said "oh it looks a funny shape there" but she did not sound concerned, more matter of fact, and did not make a big thing of it. It certainly did not look mishaped when she showed me on the screen. Maybe it was just that she was coming in from every angle possible as she was trying to get clear pics.

Oh and she did find a small fibroid. Deep joy!!!

All in all I feel positive and confident, it's just a waiting game for a bit longer.

My partner and I have been laying off sex since all this began. I know it is not supposed to make any difference to miscarriage, but just have not felt comfortable. He is totally fine with this and not pressurising me at all.

Have my next scan on Tuesday, and all spotting has stopped for coming up to a week and a half now.

Must admit, am starting to feel like sex again now and wonder if I should or wait till I know scan is OK and ask at the hospital then?

Well, having felt things were looking up, I am bleeding again Sad Face

I was OK when I went to the loo at about 8.30 but when went again it was like the start of a period, and had a bit of "liver like" stuff in it, only a bit. It now is like watery blood and is less.

Am sat here in floods now............. just when I thought things were going to be ok.
