Charlotte had her first eye test today

We went into town with my mum today. She went for her eyes testing so I saw if I could get Charlotte in on the off chance and they had an appointment.

While she's been reading we've noticed her moving the book further away to see the words so I thought we might as well have her eyes checked out.

Turns out she's a little more long sighted than they'd expect at her age. (Apparently children are born very long sighted and as they get older it gets less and their eyes become more normal).

She's got glasses for close work like reading etc, and in 6 months they will review her and the chance is she probably will be OK without them.

I felt really sorry for her as they had to put drops in her eyes to make her pupils big, but she was really brave Love

She's picked some pink frame glasses Very happy

Bless her Kiss I bet she looks so cute in her glasses. At least Harry Potter has made wearing specs cool for kids in school Cool

Charlotte has the same problem as Joseph.

He also only has to wear his glasses for 6mths and then be reviewed. Already in a week I see a HUGE difference in Joseph, he holds his reading book better, hasn't complained of a headache all week, and his reading is better it is more fluent. Very happy

Georgie went for an eye test a month ago after the school nurse said she had struggled reading small letters with her left eye.

The opticians were brilliant and sadi that it was more liekly she got bored, as she had no problem. However on a few of the 'games' they played they said she may be slightly longer sighted but will wait another 6 months to see if this is the case and review her, they do not think she needs glasses at all now. I haven't noticed her holdaing books away as you say - BUT the optician said exactly the same thing to us about the long sighted vision.

I bet Charlotte looks adorable in her pink framed glasses, Georgie tried some on before her test and fell in love wth some thick pink rimmed ones... Bless xx
