Aww, i'm really pleased for you hun Very happy . I bet you were really stressing about it! I am going to have a similar problem with Lolly. The school i want her to go to isn't our nearest. The nearest had a really bad ofsted though and is going down hill at a rate of knots since the headmaster took over from his predecessor (sp?) I know a few people who have actually taken their children out of the school! I have put in a notice of intention at the other local school and am hoping that when the time comes she will be accepted. We have a way to go yet though, she won't be attending until september 2010. Xx

glad she got accepted into the school Very happy bet you's are over the moon and that she dont have to go to the second best.

one question you mentioned ofstead, mum2popsnjak, in your comment...being from scotland and as far i can remember from primary school and high school (i left high school 7 year ago 2002) we didnt have that. If you dont mind me asking though what is ofstead? Confused Dont ken if any other districts in scotland had something like this but am just curious....

Ofsted in England/Wales is their way of inspecting the school and making sure it is doing everything it is supposed to.

In Scotland we have HMIe (Her Matjesty's Inspectorate of Education) and for pre-school/nursery we also have to work to Scottish Carw Commision standards aswell.

Yep Alex you are right! It stands for Office in standards of education if you are interested? basically i think it is the same as your HMIe by the sounds of it like you say. Our ofsted inspectors give a report to the school which the parents can have a look at. It gives areas in which can be improved on etc. My nearest schools recent inspection didn't go very well and it had a bad report. Sad Face
