Fireman Sam - Martha gets a reading book from school and a 'free choice' - she is top for reading in her class - my love of books must have rubbed off!

We went through a stage of it being fifi and the flowertots every night for ages (rather annoying after a while!) but now she picks a different story most nights. We are working through a winnie the pooh short(ish) stories book at the mo, and last week it was noddy.
I am a massive reader and couldn't live without my books so i am hoping the kids take after me, although i'm not sure mike is? I had to clear out some books the other day as i had accumulated hundreds and since then i have already bought 6new books Embarassed lol. Xx

Aaralyn has got literally hundreds of books that have been given as gifts or handed down to her from friends with older children... we read all kinds of different books each night (we try to every night anyway)... she also has her decodable books that she reads for school. She loves to read anything by Dr Suess and I love to read her anything by Dr Suess... Now that she's becoming a pretty good reader we may start the Harry Potter series Very happy

Charlotte really likes books read to her, and now she's bringing her own home too Very happy They are Ruth Miskin books (I've never heard of those but my brothers used to read kipper books).

We were getting into Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl but we got distracted, so we will maybe start it again at some point.

Tammy, Charlotte wants me to read Harry Potter to her, but I've only just re-read them for about the hundredth time lol, so I think I'll wait a bit longer Embarassed

George hasn't really got the attention span to sit with a book, but he likes his Thomas books and he has some Usborn books which he enjoys, like 'That's not my Train'.

We have endless books and in school holidays/ half term etc we go to the library so the lids can pick some different ones to bring home. Denis is at the stage where he likes a small selection of familiar books read over and over again. Whereas now Summer reads herself she likes something new sometimes. I kept some of my childhood books, Summer liked 'My Naughty Little Sister' which is a collaboration of stories but involving the same characters. My friend gave me a book she used to read to her daughter-'Milly Molly Mandy'. I also have the classics from when I was a kid- 'George's Marvellous Medicine', 'The Witches', 'The Twits' etc by Dahl so I'll start on those at some point.
