a slow starting labour ?????

hi all. iv been getting alot of pain like bad period pain and alittle lower back pain. its been on and off for 4 days but when i do get it the pains are between 7 and 10 mins apart and lasts up around 30 seconds and could go on like this for a hour to 2 hrs last nite it keept me up till 3 this morning. had a few pains this morning. iv also wondering about the mucus plug. iv been getting alot of discharge for about a month now but for 3 weeks iv been getting this white sticky lumps of dischage is this normal to have. and iv had alot of it today could this be a show but its not had any blood in just white and very tiny bit yellow so im really confused at the mo. fed up with having the pains and just wish labour would start. im not due to see my midwife till next friday im 38+3 weeks. sorry for TMI xx

I had similar pains that came and went and a few times, having had kind of tummy cramps all night I thought I was in labour but to no avail

I never got any kind of discharge but then again I had to be induced this time but with Jas, again nothing like that. I would check it with your MW hun. If you're unsure, phone your delivery suite and they'll probably get you in for a bit of monitoring to see if it is labour starting.

Hi hun, It could be a slow labour. If you have had the discharge for a month or so though i would think that it probably isn't associated with the labour? When was the last time you went to the midwife hun? It is possible you have a slight Urinary infection. Or if you are a bit itch down below you may have thrush? This can cause a white curdy type discharge. I would ask the midwife. If all is ok though hun i would say it may just be strong braxton hicks which although i had none of in my first pregnancy i had lots of in my second. They got stronger and stronger towards the end. Your discharge doesn't sound like a show like Kel says it could be something else- phone your MW. My show was a huge blob of bloody mucus tpye thing I never had contractions as I was induced but I had a friend who had a week of mild contractions before going into established labour but again like Kel has suggested it could be strong braxton hicks.

Oh hunni - sounds pretty sin=milar to what my symptoms were like last week when i was sent to the dlievery suite and it was a false alarm! lol

hi thanks for your replys. i did ask the mw at the hostpital about 2 weeks ago and she said it was normal to get this discharge but she had to ask some one else so thts y i didnt really no what to think! pains have stoped now and just getting a few period pains now and then wen the baby moves down alittle more but nothing to complain about. feeling abit moody since last nite cant get comfy and ribs and back hurt so cant sleep oh well i just keep thinking it wont be long now my due date is on its way xx
