Scared out of my mind - please help....

I am 10 weeks pregnant and last night when I went to the loo, there was a lot of bright red watery blood on the tissue. It hasn't happened again - during the night there was nothing and today there has been just very slight brown spotting when I wipe. I have had no pain but I am absolutely scared witless. I have cried and cried and stayed in bed all day. There was nothing on my underwear last night, but just that amount of blood on the tissue was terrifying.
I spoke to an out of hours GP who said to go to A&E if it started again today, or to see my GP in the morning. I am so scared I have lost my baby. Can you have a MC at 10 weeks with no pain and no clotted blood? Please help me Crying
I had brown spotting from week 4 to week 6 and had 2 scans (at 5 weeks and 7 weeks) which showed the baby was all ok. I am just so scared at what happened last night. This is my first baby.

Aww hun. It must be so worrying for you. I would definitely go and see your GP or midwife (if you have already been assigned one?). However the likelihood that you have had a miscarriage after such a small amount of blood and no pain i wuld say is minimal. Also, as you have already seen your baby's heartbeat it is an even lower risk. Apparently if you have seen a heartbeat the risk of miscarriage falls dramatically? Or that is what i was told when i had my early scan with DD anyway? I hope you don't mind me asking this but when you noticed the blood were you having a bowel movement or just a wee? I was just wondering if it is possible it could be because of piles or something similar? Anyway, get yourself checked hun but try not too panic too much! Let us know how you get on hun. Good luck, i have my fingers crossed all is fine! Kiss Xx

Thank you so much for your replies. I just went for a wee when I found all that blood. I am going to ring the urgent gynae dept (where I went before) in the morning and try get an appointment. Hopefully cut out the GP part. Thanks again Smile

I'd try and get another early scan hun.

I had a MC last year at 8 weeks and it started with brown spotting then went to bright red blood. I got period like pains begin to happen (not as severe as my normal period pains though) and then I lost the sac which was devastating even at such a short time into the pregnancy.

However, this last pregnancy, I had some brown spotting again around 5 weeks and immediately thought I was losing the baby again. I had a scan at the EPU at 5 weeks and they saw the sac and again at 7 weeks when we saw the heartbeat (as you have done). It was such a relief. I'd had a little brown spotting up until the 7th week so was very nervous about the second scan but I now have a bouncing 3 month old Very happy

It's best to try and get it checked out. I hope it all is good news for you but do keep us posted won't you Kiss Kiss

2 weeks ago I had this scare and wrote this messgae. I had a scan 2 days later and all was fine with the baby. They did not seem fazed about the bleeding and just put it down to hormones.
Now, 2 weeks on I am bleeding again this evening. A lot of darkish red blood - some in my knickers, and a lot more when I wiped. No pain but a little of the blood was slightly clotted. I'm 12 weeks tomorrow. What could be causing this? Is this it this time? I feel emotionally drained by the constant worry. If this was a miscarriage at 12 wks would there be some pain and a lot of clotting since the baby is relatively big now? I am so confused and miserable.
I must admit, we have been clearing out the loft today and I have lifted a lot of things. Could this has caused it?

Hi hun, Alex is right, i would go and ring your midwife or the early pregnancy unit and inform them what is happening. I'm sure it is probably nothing, especially if you are having no pain at the moment but like Alex said it is definitely better to be safe than sorry. And no more lifting hun Tounge Out lots of rest and relaxation!! Try not to panic though, fingers crossed it is just one of those unexplainable things Kiss Xx

I agree with Alex, I would get to see your MW or drop into your hospital to get checked out.

You really shouldn't be lifting Tounge Out so make sure you get your OH to do that whilst you direct from now on hun.

I really hope all is well with baby. Let us know won't you

Kiss Kiss

Huge hugs and sending lots of baby glue!

Both of my miscarraiges have been extremely painful and with both of my viable pg's i have also bled early stages of pregnancy too.

Here's hoping you are just experiencing embedment bleeding babe!

Definatley get to your gp or mw and see if you can get an early scan xxxx

A friend of mine had the same thing, she was re-decorating and did a bit more than she should have- bled a little but no pain, baby was fine.

Just take it easy, love and hugs to you Kiss

Me again! Feeling much brighter now. Bleeding has not returned today Smile . Was a scary amount yesterday but I really think I overdid it. Phoned the midwife today and she came straight over (On a sunday! Thank god someone recognises what mums to be are going through). She used a doppler to listen to the babies heart and it was there beating away loudly and strongly. Feel v. reassured. I'm gonna have words with this little one when it's born. Scaring me silly every 2 weeks! Very happy

Smile Keep us updted how you and bump are getting on and NO MORE heavy lifting or overdoing it!! Tounge Out hehe! Kiss Xx

Glad all is well Kiss

It's easy to get carried away in the early stages when you still feel like you are capable of doing everything as normal- I hated it in work when everyone was lifting even the stupidly light things for me, don't mind so much now as am huge and can hardly bend!

Take it easy from now on!
