Hi there. Welcome to JP

I have a cot for Sophie but she's in her moses basket and I plan to keep her in that for 6 months sleeping in our room before moving her to her cot.

I know others on here who have kept babies in the moses basket longer so it's perfectly suitable for quite a while. We got a rocket with ours which was a good purchase as it was far easier to get her to sleep sometimes when she was rocked.

I hope you can relax and have a lovely pregnancy this time. Keep us all posted Kiss

Hi there! I'm Louise, due in April too- 24th. My first was born in April too but he is on the 3rd. My little girl is an August baby. I have got a cot bed but won't be using it 'til bubs is about 6 months old or too big for crib whichever comes first!

Hi hun, congratulations on your pregnancy! I hope everything is plain sailing for you this time! As the others have already said i wouldn't worry about a cot for a little while, a moses basket is perfectly acceptable for a good couple of months - we only had a moses basket as a travel bed for our youngest as he preferred his swinging crib (which was mine as a baby!) he was in it until 8mth before he went into a cot - he was on the smaller side though and a crib does tend to be bigger than a moses basket. Certainly fine for between 4-6mth though hun (unless they have grown really fast) so no panic for a cot!! Kiss Xx

Well this is my first and I am not going to be buying much before the big day at all. I will be getting a moses basket and basics and that is it as I am a worrier and I want to wait until I get the baby home.
Anyway - the baby needs to help choose the cot. They might not like the one you pick if you don't ask first. :-)
Good luck with everything and I hope it all goes well. Kiss

Hiya Hun,

I'm Becs and due our second on 15th March (crikey 7 weeks to go Shocked Very happy ). We already have a DD who is now 5, so it feles a bit lke my first all over again - such a long time since i was last pg! I too have suffered miscarraiges and can understand your worries!

First of all welcome to Jp - i'm sure you'll love it here as much as we do.

I will be keeping baby in the moses basket in our bedroom until i feel confident enough to put him on the nursery in his cot (prob around 4-6 months). I also didn't put Georgia-Mae straight into her cot, i put the moses basket in it for a week so she got used to her new surroundings.

As for other essentials

Car Seat
Pram/puschair
Babygros, vests and cardigans, hat and mitens, all in one?
As for bedding i personally use sleeping / gro bags as baby cannot kick them off and become cold.
Then of course nappies, cotton wool, nappy rash cream
Bottles if not breastfeeding

erm my mind has now gone blank.
