Now I am really getting hacked off

OMG. Stupid NHS

To cut a long story short:

Joseph was referred to the repitory clinic when he was 10mths old for raspy breathing, they did chest extra which showed his chest was full of gunge but yet they couldn't hear it so they ordered a CF test. They mentioned at the time if the CF test was negative they would do a broncoscopy. He had CF test and it was negative but never followed it up and said he had a floppy voice box and would out grow it.

LAst year I had had enough of chest infection after infection after infection and noisy breathing, GP re refferred us, they decided to do broncoscopy (and admitted it should have been years ago), this was done in Sept 2008 and as a result of the broncoscopy, Joseph was to have follow up test within the next frew weeks the consultant told me.

I waited and waited but never heard, before Christmas the GP surgery tried to chase it up but we heard nothing, now the surgery have phoned twice in the last week demanding to know when we will be seen and still nothing

Should I complain? I am soo P***ed off and desperate for them to see if they can help Joseph.

I would, but it's so different here with medical.... I hope you get some answers soon Alex, I can imagine how frustrated you are!!

Aww hun, i can imagine how frustrated you must be. I would complain too hun and keep on their backs until something is done! I know it sounds bad, but sometimes it is the only way to get thing's done. I don't think there is a need for rudeness but staying quiet and accepting things a lot of the time just means you get overlooked! Keep at it hun, hound them until you get the appointment through for the next test!!! Hope you can get to the bottom of it soon hun Xx

Oh Alex, that is awful! I cannot believe how long it is taking! Poor little Joseph!

Personally i would complain - BUT i am a bit of a complainer....

The only reason I don't moan about the NHS is because until recently we had BUPA care, absolutely crap! Complain or annoy, annoy is when you constantly phone up the hospital where Joseph was seen, eventually they do get off their arses and walk a whole meter to the files.

My dad was at the GP today and he mentioned to him that he thought it was out of order that Joseph hadn't been seen yet, the lovely GP agreed and has written a strongly worded letter to the Children's hosptial so hopefully I might hear soon.

Brilliant! Will be keeping our fingers crossed for Joseph!

Lets hope thisletter is the rocket up their backsides that they need hun! Fingers crossed you will have an appointment for Joseph very soon! Xx

i hope everything is fine now...sometimes a strong stand is really needed, to teach them some hard lessons! dont worry, everything will be fine and you will writing a mail here smiling!
