Hi. I'm Amanda, mum to Jude aged 3 and a half. Hubby and I have been trying for baby no. two for three years now, and we were referred to a gyno by my GP almost a year ago now. I was given my first course of Clomid last year (three month supply), but unfortunately it didn't work. I also had lots of blood tests, you know the usual ovulation etc, which all came back 'normal'. So I was then given another 3 month course of Clomid, and yet again it was unsuccessful. In October of last year our Dr started me on Tomoxafen (the same drug prescribed for women who have breast cancer, as well as women who have fertility problems). Unfortunately I have type 1 diabetes (since age 5 years) and this drug sent my glucose levels out of control (good control is vital for a healthy pregnancy), so after a month I stopped using Tomoxafen. We now have an appointment to see our Gyno next week, at which point I think he's going to refer us to a fertility clinic in Nottingham for IUI.
In short, Clomid didn't work for us, but I've heard lots of stories of successful conception using this drug, and I really hope it works for you! xx
