i have a 7yr old son who has been having tantrums since he started juniors i have tried all stratergies as have school but he has continued his behaviour it has however only been in school. He was referred to a peadiatric expert and has been diagnosed with dyslexia. i have been a little happier since finding a reason behind it all but am still confused about one or two things such as looking back he has even thrown a tantrum when he is involved in fun activities too ie art topics not just hard ones. Is this part of the frustration maybe relating all school activities or is it just that he has done it for so long and so he is in a rut? We are at present applying for funding for him to get a one to one do you think this will help?

I am dyslexic and I used to have bad tantrums concerning all school work, even art. This was due to the fact that I could never get out what was in my head effectively down on the paper. I would make silly mistakes or it wouldn't look like I wanted it too or it wasn't perfect enough.

It resulted in many screwed and ripped up school projects. With time I eventually found a way round doing certain things and the tantrums faded. All you can do is be there to say never mind, try again.
