Hi, nice to meet you. Very happy
Yes I was/am tired too. I work full time however and so I cannot sleep in the day. You lucky thing.Razz
I don't know if you can have too much sleep but you must do what you think is best for you and the baba.
Anyway, I have heard from more experienced people on here that you should be greatful for the sleep you can get now as once the little one arrives you will be longing for a good nights sleep. lol.

I would say it is very normal in the early stages to feel really tired, i think most mums experience this pregnancy side affect. However, it can also be a symptom of Iron deficiency (Anaemia) if you have had your booking in appointment already your midwife will have already done a full blood count and if it comes back low then she will contact you and give you a prescription for some iron tablets, lots of women are prescribed these in pregnancy, so don't worry if this is the case! I hope you aren't suffering with too many other symptoms hun? The tiredness does get easier in the 2nd trimester so as has already been said. Just sleep when you feel you need it. Kiss Xx

Sorry hun, i have just seen your other post and have realised you aren't from the uk. I know your system works differently over there but i'm sure they will test for Anaemia anyway, sorry if i confused you with the info above. it is the way it works in the uk Xx

Its normal hun Smile

I was shattered by noon with mine and barely functioned after that! I would be in bed for 7 and would easily sleep 12 hrs straight (ah to have 12hrs sleep again lol). It lasted into the beginning of the 2nd trimester.

BTW welcome to JP

Hello and welcome! Completely normal. Fortunately i only work mornings so i came home from work at 12, had lunch and slept til 6ish. Woke up for dinner and went back to sleep all through the night til work again. From about weeks 5 to 9. Then I stayed up after dinner for a couple of hours til week 10/11. I'm 18 weeks now and only have an afternoon nap once or twice a week! Smile

Sleep when you can, xx

It's very normal to be sleepy during the first trimester of pregnancy. When I was pregnant I slept for about 12-15 hours a day which didn't leave much time for anything but I couldn't cope without that ammount of sleep. I'd say if you are working it might be worth taking a week or so off if you can just so you don't run yourself ragged, but if not just enjoy the sleep because it doesn't last long.
