I have my first parent/teacher conference with Aaralyn's teacher at 1:30. I'll also get her first report card as well! I hope it's all good but I will be open to whatever the teacher has to say, whether it's that Aaralyn is excelling or needing more help on anything. I'm happy to have the opportunity to talk to her teacher about some things, concerns, ect....

Mike's going to drop me off and then go have some lunch with Aaralyn while I'm in the conference Love . Then I'm going to a job fair afterwards at the same company that just happened to donate the sweatshirts to Aaralyn's school! So wish me some luck with that if ya would please!?

I'll give ya'll an update when I get back... though I'll be on here before all that stuff I'm sure Wink (usually right after I start the coffee pot in the morning lol)

Thanks!

I know, I don't know that I'll ever have another job that "allowed" Embarassed me to check in with you guys all day..... that had nothing to do with my laying off though LOL (I often wondered if they monitored stuff like that but it was never brought up, other than a company wide email about people going on myspace and facebook and it slowing up the servers... I only went to JP Halo ) Anyway.... I will indeed have withdrawls but I'll just be posting away on here again while you all are sleeping ((well some of you)) )

I went to charlotte's last week, the teacher didn't have anything negative to say which was great, we weren't there long at all.

Thank you!

I've been looking at the employment opps section on the company's website and it's all IT stuff which I'm not too savvy on so I don't know if they will consider me, maybe if they have training programs? I've got a pretty good aptitude for computer things once I do them, I retain alot. I wish I had pursued an IT education a little more when life was a little more carefree, would have come in real handy now!

The conference with Aaralyn's teacher went great! She got an awesome report card all good grades, no bad ones or ones that show needing improvement Very happy

Her teacher did mention that sometimes she has to tell Aaralyn things a couple times before she does it, she said it's not a disrespect thing, but more that Aaralyn is a "day dreamer".... this is something that I see at home too.... just something for us to keep an eye on for now. I'm not sure if it's that she's so imaginative that sometimes she goes into her own little world or that she has comprehention problems, the teacher does not think it's the latter at this point because she can read a story and then ask a question about it and Aaralyn always knows exactly what the story was, characters, ect.....

She told me Aaralyn writes better than any of the other kids in her class and she is working with the writing specialist/teacher to keep her at the pace that she is going rather than where the rest of the class is now Very happy that made me very happy to hear!

She said that Aaralyn gets along well with all of the other kids and they all seem to like her and there are no social issues at all Very happy but she also pointed out that sometimes when some of the other kids are trying to be social when the teacher is trying to get everyone's attention Aaralyn is always one of the first to quiet down and give her attention to the teacher. It's more with directions that she has to be told more than once on.

So, sounds like she's doing very well and is right were she should be on everything! Her teacher also pointed out that she is an amazing little artist and finds it very amusing and great that Aaralyn takes her art work really, really seriously Very happy

I don't know about the job thing, I don't think they were looking for someone who is not expert in IT stuff Suspect

Sorry to hear the job thing didn't go exactly as hoped hun Sad Face

But. . . . . Woooohooooo, way to go Aaralyn! Very happy I knew she wolud get a great report hun. We knew her writing was good after seeing the picture you posted of the turkeys and it is great news that Aaralyn isn't being held back at the other LO's pace. She needs to be stimulated and it sounds like they are doing just that Very happy She obviously knows she is to respect her teacher too if she stops and listens to her when told, so that is great. You must be the proudest mum just now hun Love Xx

I am soooooo proud right now! I really let her know how proud I am too. Instead of her and Mikey going to eat while I was in the conference, they played out on the school playground and then the 3 of us went out for pizza before the job fair.

He's actually on his way over right now to pick her up and take her to Amber's work because Amber has something special for her and Aaralyn has something special for Amber (a lovely picture of course!)... Amber is working at a Hallmark store now so I have a feeling Aaralyn is getting a new Christmas Tree ornament from Amber Very happy

Aww that's lovely hun. It is so nice that Amber and Aaralyn get on so well. She is obviously thinking of her as a little sister and is very proud of her too! Very happy I bet she will love her new decoration too.
Talking of christmas decorations, we are going to try and make some soon. I read a great a VERY easy way of making them in a christmas craft book. You just cut out shapes with cookie cutters (or free-hand if you are arty) in slices of bread. Put a small hole in the top of the shape so you can thread ribbon or something through to tie on the tree. Leave the bread out on a rack overnight and it will be hard by the next morning. Next you paint it, leave to dry and then coat with pva glue and glitter. Once the glue is dry you will have fab christmas decs! I thought it was a great idea and something i wouldn't have thought of doing with bread. I may just be a bit behind the times though? lol Xx
