I am 6 weeks pregnant and i had brown spotting when i woke up this morning and for an hour or 2 after when i kept wiping myself i cud see just a bit....have had no more. but am really worried as went to A&E this morning and they are sending me for a scan tomorrow...(thurs). I had an internal scan on monday and they could see a baby and heartbeat. so all was ok then. but am going out of my mind with worry even though i am trying to stay calm.

HELPPPPPPP...i hope this is nothing to worry about. this is my second pregnancy in 10 years and i had none of this when i was pregnant back then...

Welcome to JP hun

I was told that brown blood is old blood and nothing to worry about, many people spot in the first few weeks and have an implantation bleed.

Why did you have an internal scan? Seems very early to have a scan, were your dates wrong? I had to have an internal at my '12week' scan because they couldnt find baby but theyn they deciced I was only 9 weeks

Sounds like A & E are being cautious in sending you for a scan, I am sure it is nothing to worry about.

Good luck tomorrow.

I went for an internal scan last week cos i was having excrutiating pains in abdomen and back like i was been stabbed with sharp knife. and had the hcg bloods took but that didn't double and it went from 1951 up by 744 to whatever that is....for some reason this time round i feel more worried...don't know why....but i should really calm down and relax or i won't enjoy it...just hoping tomorrow is good news.

Welcome to JP hun I'm Mandy mum to Lauren and Jake. It sounds like you have had a tough few weeks hun. I'm sure it is nothing to worry about and A&E are being cautious (rightly so) If you have already detected a heartbeat the odds of something happening are less hun. Lots of people have a small bleed in the early days and it isn't always something yo worry about. I had spotting with my DF for a good couple of weeks in the early days and all was fine. I did have an early scan though to make sure. Try not to worry too much hun as stress isn't good for either of you. I have my fingers crossed all is fine for you hun. Let us know how you get on Kiss Xx

Firstly welcome to JP

I had the same with this last pregnancy. I started spotting at 5 weeks and it lasted on and off into week 7. The scans I had done at 5 and 7 weeks were fine and I gave birth to a healthy baby girl in October this year.

My previous pregnancy was also 10 years ago so I know how you feel. I also had none of these problems when I was pregnant back then!

I did have a MC last year at 8 weeks and the blood quickly went from brown to red and got heavier but it certainly doesn't sound like this is the case with you so I wouldn't worry yourself too much (easier said than done I realise).

Good luck for the next scan hun and let us know how it goes Kiss Kiss

Went for a scan today and they reassured me that brown spotting is normal...the heartbeat was there and baby fine. which i was so relieved about......they advised me if the blood becomes redder as when she done internal scan she said it was brown with a bit of red, that if it goes redder and bright red then to phone a & e....came home and put my feet up. DH is waiting on me hand and foot but just been to loo and have had a redder show and am wiping redder blood but not bright red...having pains but not bad excruiating pains tho....just putting feet up and trying not to worry.....wonder if the redder blood is normal too...thing is if i go a&e now they are not going to do much so am gonna just rest and wait til tomorrow morning. legs are hurting too like i am coming on a bad period...SO TRYING NOT TO WORRY... Thanks for all your support in this...much appreciated .

I really hope all goes ok for you hun, It is good news that all was fine today! Maybe you are having some redder bleeding due to the scan? Maybe that is why you are having a few cramps aswell, things settling down? Try not to worry hun, i would go straight back to A&E tonight if you are still worried or if the bleeding gets any heavier though hun Kiss Xx

Thanks for your message..... I haven't had any more heavier bleeding and it is still a redder bleed but just when wiping....my cramps are still there, but not all time just every 10 mins....but more like a bad period....i am not heavy bleeding and not in excruiating pain so i am hopeful its nothing....not going to go to A&E unless i get bright red bleed and bad pain. Boobs are still very very sore too....God i hate this...its so different to my last pregnancy maybe thats why i am so worried. but just resting at the moment keeping feet up and drinking loads of water....got scan next thursday and hoping this bleeding will slow down over weekend....

Thanks for ur comments and support.

Hope all is ok with u all...

Hun i really hope all is ok for you. I would go to A&E now and get checked. I'm sure they could scan you at emergency department hun! Kiss Xx

Just wanted to add, it still isn't definite bad news hun. One of my friends is expecting twins, she is 14weeks now and all is going fine so far. But when she was around 7 weeks she had a really heavy bleed (really heavy, blood running down her legs and everything!) She went to hospital fearing the worse and had scan. All was fine, and they have no idea why she had the bleed? (this was where she found out it was twins too) Hope that gives you a little hope hun Kiss Xx

Hi Guys about 730 this evening i had an urge to go loo as i felt something ready to come out...and something dropped out so i fished it out(i know that sounds gross) but kept it to show hospital....had very bad cramps and felt sick and very cold straight away....called nhs direct and they told me to call ambulance and went straight to a and e...the doctor said it did look like it was a miscarriage. but when he checked me said my cervix was closed which states no miscarriage. but he said 80 odd percent sure it is...cos i am still bleeding....been sent home just told to rest and have an emergency scan on monday to confirm it....my dear boyfriend and i have cried so much tonight and i am glad he is here with me.....can't believe it, am sure we will get thru this together...thx for your support guys...will let you know final result on monday....thx again.

Hi, I am kind of going a little crazy as well. My last period was October 15 so I would have been due for my period this month Nov 11. No period, took the test Nov 14 twice came out positive. Nov 17 started brown spotting for 2 days, Nov 19 almost nothing, Nov 20 started bleeding red like my period was coming but no where near as heavy. The bleeding only lasted a day and a half and went back to brown spotting. Today there is no blood or spotting. I am so confused because I have a 23 month old and never bled with him. Took another pregnancy test yesterday and it came out negative. I have no idea what is going on and I don't have a dr's appointment until Dec 3rd. Does anyone have any imput on what might be going on with me?

I'm not a doctor hun and i don't have a positive answer for you. I would make another appointment with doc earlier or go to hospital for a definite conclusion. However i would say that if you had 2 positives and then some bleeding and are now reading negative that you had a very early miscarriage hun? I really hope i am wrong though. Go and get yourself checked and let us know how you get on hun Kiss Kiss Kiss Xx

Awww, sorry to hear that hun. I hope you are coping ok with it all at the moment, it sounds like you have a supportive partner and hopefully together you will cope. Don't rush into trying again if you don't feel ready though hun. I hope the scan goes ok and you get a definite answer Kiss Xx
