OOh hun poor thing, I moan loads when I just have one!

Has he tried Corsodal (sp)? I use TCP neat on a them, it really stings and absolutely stinks, but it does numb them after the initial sting and takes out any infection.

Kiss to your lad, hope they go soon for him

Poor darling. That must be awful for him Upset , i suffered badly with them too as a child. They never did find out why? Suspect Although i do seem to have grown out of it now and don't get them too often any more. I hope they find a reason for him getting them so bad hun, at least then they may be able to give you a treatment or you can avoid something that may trigger them for him? I'm sure this is obvious but have you tried stopping him having anything too acidic, ie. citrus fruits, pickled onions etc? Kiss Xx

Could it possibly be hand foot and mouth virus maybe?? it's more common in younger toddler age kids but older can get it too.... I've actually had small blisters before when Aaralyn had it.

I hope you guys are able to get it diagnosed and hopefully get him better, unfortunately if it's hand foot and mouth it just has to run it's course and sometimes it can take a while, although it's supposed to be milder and quicker in older kids.

Good luck babe Kiss

this has been ruled out , the doctors have said with it going on so long it more likey to do with a problem with his anaemia but it just depends whether it shows up, these are not blisters these are like something has eaten into his lips and tongue and again the docs have diagnosed it as servere mouth ulcers and it finding the cause of them , the dentist isnt sure whats causing them , he got blood tests in the morning so we will have to wait and see Sad Face

I suffer from mouth ulcers a lot even now. In fact I have one on my lip right now and I am about to investigate what I can take as a pregnant person.
In the mean time - I have tried lots of treatments too but I recently found this web site http://www.mouthulcers.org/ which has lots of ideas from fellow sufferers. I did find that drinking tea did help me numb the pain so if he likes a cuppa that might help him a bit.
I hope he feels better soon - I really understand what he is feeling like and I know it is horrid. Poor thing.

hi lucy

yes we have weve spent the last 3 years trying different things to no avail, the doctors have just done blood tests for anemia , his liver function full blood count and 2 others , if these come back normal there are some other avenues to look at but im determined to get to the bottom of this and so is the doctor at last Very happy

i wish nathan only suffered with them when hes stressed but that doesnt appear to be the case, he can go a week or two with out one ( if hes lucky) and sometimes they can last up to 6 weeks before healing starts ...

had hospital appointment yesterday, Very happy apparentley we may never find the cause of nathans problem Sad Face . they have said they will do everything they can tho to try and find anything that maybe causing them, they have took mouth swabs as he got them again and needed to do deeper investigations on his blood, great we thought until we got to them taking his blood, 11 bottles they filled and some were big fat ones!!!! Shocked bless him he was really good and them take it , but i couldnt believe they took 11 in the one session!!!!! he back at the hospital in 4 months unless something shows up on the tests and we will get called back

Aww hun, i really hope they get to the bottom of all this. I can't believe he had to let them take 11 files of blood, poor little guy. That would seem a lot even for an adult. Way to go him being so good though! Very happy Very happy Very happy Xx
