Early days and nervous!
Hi everyone. I feel a little silly posting as I am only 4 weeks, but as my boyfriend and I have decided not to tell people as I miscarried at the beginning of last year it would be nice to talk to other expectant mums! Anyone have any tips for the first 12 weeks I would be grateful. xxx
Just to take things easy is the main thing i would suggest, it can be very tiring. Take advantage of any sleep you can get because it wont last
well welcome to JP I'm mandy by the way and although i am not expecting i have a 2 1/2yr old daughter Lauren (Lolly) and a 8mth old son named Jake. All i can suggest is to take it as easy as you can as the 1st 12 weeks are the hardest in my experience (bar the last couple of weeks ofcourse). Drink lots and stay hydrated which can help stop you getting the headaches that affect some woman in early pregnancy (makes you pee even more though, sorry! lol) Oh and you should be taking folic acid, from when you started trying until the 12 weeks, but i'm sure you know that already! Otherwise it is a case of just go with the flow i am afraid! Good luck though, really hope all goes well for you this time!
Hey and welcome to JP
I canät really give you any tips bc i did not even know i was pregnant until i was like 7 weeks. After that i did work normal and did not do anything special. I did take folic acid.
Well good luck

I guess it's just best to take care of yourself. Get some early nights and try and eat healthily, don't lift really heavy things and if you feel any niggles take a rest. Good luck for a healthy pregnancy.
Hi and welcome to JP
Only tips I would give are take a good pregnancy supplement (folic acid or pregnacare which has this plus Omega 3) and eat well.
Follow what your body tells you so if you're tired, try and rest.
Good luck

HI there and congratulations
I am just over 5 weeks pregnant and i am taking folic acid and omega oils.
I already have a 9.5 month old, so the first time i never lifted anything heavy but its hard with a wee one already.
Try and cut down on caffeine and of course the obvious things!!!
TRy and have a healthy diet and take as much rest as you can, as i am wacked at the minute and can not sleep in the day or lay in due to Harrison. BUt i am going to bed earlier which is always a bonus.
TRy and stay calm and happy about it, i am sure this time everything will be fanatastic!!!!
Keep me posted

Hi and welcome to JP.
I agree with the others, try and take things easy, relax and just be happy
I had two miscarriages in 06 - so know how you feel. I was 6-8 weeks with first mc and 13 weeks with second mc (twins). I did tell people rather early this time (as i was trying to prepare incase the worst happened), but i was so nervous and worried that things would not turn out right and just wanted colleagues to know about previous mc's as i'd find that easier to deal with as i seemed to of been at worl 24/7 ast the time.
I am now 17+3 - and although i had a minor scare a couple of weeks ago all is fine!
Big hugs and BIG congrats
Hi and welcome to jp, im sarah 22 we have a DD chloe who is just 2, me and DH are TTC bud no2. just the normal as have been said... take it easy, rest and eat well also the folic acid. But congrats on the pregnancy hope its a happy and healthy one for you this time. xx
Thanks for all the replies. It's nice to know there are people I can talk to at the touch of a button for advice. I saw my doctor yesterday and he has referred me for consultant care to the best gyneachologist at my local hospital and fingers crossed with extra monitoring and a positive attitude, this time I will be able to hold a beautiful baby in my arms at the end of it. Hope everyone else is doing well xxx

Oooh my congrats.... xxx
mummyb i had a mc a couple of months before i fell pg with my DD and my dr & mw didnt give me any extra monitoring which i would have liked as i was very anxious and the first scan i had was at 13wk for a dating scan
but it could just be my area im in as it was on my records i had antenatal depression (depression during my pregnancy) and my hv didnt monitor me closely for pnd which i had quite badly aswell.. but then my hv was useless and havent seen her in over a year.
i gues syou could ask your doctor explaining your concerns and they might give you extra monitoring but then the dr/mw might just say there no point as there would be nothing that could be done if things did go to the worse.
mkbaby just want everyone else has said really resting alot being careful on what you do.. i was still working for the beginning of my pg and my mc i worked right through it not knowing that i was having an mc take some vitamin tablets designed for early pregnancy fruit and veg etc for the minerals and vitamins you need and the best tip of all.. relax
