TTC a third baby while breastfeeding the second one

I have two daughters (2 1/2 years and 4 months). When I had my first one, the conception was straightforward (it happenend the following month after coming off the pill). I had 3 months inyection and anticonceptive pills after having had my first daughter because I didn't want to have a second baby too soon. As consequence of the pills, my periods dissappeared. My second daughter was conceived after 8 months of trying which was very stressful and frustrating. I didn't even know when my last period was and the duedate that I was given proved to be wrong as well.
Now, I want to have a third baby as soon as possible, I'm fully breastfeeding my second baby and my periods aren't coming back. My baby doesn't want to take the bottle at all which makes the situation more difficult!!.
Does anybody know if breastfeeding acts as contraception? I know that I'm not pregnant but, can I get pregnant without having any period at all?

I'm not sure about that.... I breastfed my daughter until she was 8 months old but I got my period about 2/3 months after I had her, where as other people I know didn't get their periods again until they had totally stopped breastfeeding.

I would ask your Dr about it and see what advise they might give you. Good luck with it hun, come back and keep us updated!

I didn't think you ovulated whilst breast feeding but I'm no expert. I know they generally say you should let your body recover from the birth before you get pregnant again but obviously that is your choice-your body and of course it could take a while to fall again. However I've always heard that you are very fertile after giving birth but I'm presuming this is if you are bottle feeding Suspect
